At least, that's happened when my parents got a divorce. I am so glad they did. It helped me reconsider many things and view them differently. So that my self confidence actually raised up because of it.

The first concern, my blood is still boiling. There were so many red flags in what he was saying. How can a person ask for free time from her own husband. What Era is he living in? He does not love that woman. I can't understand how she stayed with him for 14 years. A year would have long enough. At this rate, he would probably hurt her badly if she tried to leave. To him she is an object that he owns. I feel so deeply sad for that lady.

Yes! I only have a beta fish with two aquatic snails and two budgies. Because I know that's the best I can do with my schedule and income. The beta fish is five years old and still swimming. The aquatic snails are almost five as well. My budgies are seven years old and show no signs of disease, stress, or aging. And their plumage and cage are very well cleaned, frequently. I gave my pets the best they deserve without destroying my savings account. You should only have what you deserve.

Her excuse of being "busy" and not having time to look after them was not an excuse at all. Those dogs are living things that need love and attention, they aren't toys. The mom doesn't want dogs at all yet she is forced to care for them, while her daughter who does want them isn't looking after them. I also didn't like the fact that the daughter kept giggling and making light of the situation, her mom is busy providing and yet has to come home to a dirty home, someone needed to smack the daughter in her rude face and set her straight.

Omg leaving dogs alone in a tiny room for 12 hours without outdoor access is not okay, regardless of breed. It takes huge toll on the animals not just physically but mentally as well, that's why they start to show behaviour that we humans think are annoying like biting furniture, become hyper and uncontrollable etc. Animals can also get depressed and as a fellow dog owner my heart is hurting. This would be illegal in my country and reported to Animal Protective Service. If she has such a busy life then don't get pets, they need to be taken care of like a child THEY ARE NOT JUST CUTE TOYS. Would you let your child be isolated for 12 hours????

I feel like ppl have interesting way to distinguishing whether or not it is a concern. They say: if you change blah blah blah then it won't be a concern so I'm going to vote it is not a concern. If that friend or family member can change then of course people won't think it is a concern, it is because they don't change that is why people write it in as a concern, but for people to just say as long as they change, it is not a concern does not fully understand. Of course as long as they change, it is not a concern, but it is because THEY DON'T change, that is why their friends or family write to the show and try to have people help convince the person. But everyone has their own understanding and interpretation, this is just my opinion. It frustrates me a little when people keep saying as long as the person do this or change this then it isn't a concern and don't press the button.

I completely agree with you - that's something that has always bothered me about this show, haha. Like, they'll spend the whole time discussing it like it's a huge deal and then the guests will be like, "I don't think it's a concern. I think if they just do this and this and this and this then it can probably get better." Like, their feedback is going to have a HUGE impact on whether the person in question actually takes it seriously, and if they literally have the celebrity guests on the show saying it isn't a concern, the person will probably just go back to thinking it's not a huge deal no matter what progress was made.

I can relate to the second concern. I once lived with a host family who had 4 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs didn't get along well they barked all the time and fought and chased the cats around. There was pee and poop everywhere and the appartement was always smelly. My host family called their pets their babies and darlings but would barely take control or responsibility for them. They weren't potty trained nor did they went outside with them more than one time a day for 10 minutes maximum. Getting that many pets without being able to care for them is in my opinion only for selfish reasons. They might give you joy for the 2h or so you can give them per day but if you can't look after them and see that they are suffering, the right move is to give them away to someone who can give them what they deserve and actually does that.

Am I the only one that thinks that the second story the daughter is really selfish? Like she can hardly raise one dog right and she gets three dogs. Her mom cleans for her and she's tired of it so she came and said she wants more time with her daughter. Then the daughter goes oh I was born in a financial crisis so my mom was always negative and we didn't have that bond. Her friend reveals that the mom only slept two hours just to wake up and make her kids breakfast and how she goes to the hospital 2 times a week because she has health problems. Then later on the daughter says something how she watched her parents go through financial problems so she works a lot because she's young and want to live comfortably when she's older. That's what her mom is supposed to be doing being comfortable because she's older but has to clean up her daughters mess and she's tired. It doesn't seem that the daughter is appreciating all her mothers efforts for her.

to all the people saying the first woman should just get a divorce don't realize that divorce in Korea is not like in the US or other western countries where it wont affect the woman's life really. In Korea being a divorcee can keep you from getting jobs, being promoted and can give your kids a hard time too, the same goes for being a single mom. Also her husband could get total custody of her kids and that would also be hard. It sucks that the society is more prone to those types of reaction but your advice from behind your computer could never practically help that woman unless you yourself flew to Korea and decided to help her financially or legally.

If I were the daughter in the first concern, I'd tell my dad right at that moment that the woman concerned is my mum and she deserves, by all means, to be treated right. i don't care if they're both busy with the family's businesses because all i do care is for my mum to be treated like a human being and not a property. if my dad doesn't listen, i'll blatantly tell my mum that i'd go with her and let's leave this emotionally abusive husband/father. my mum is free to divorce her husband and as her daughter, i'll support her all the way...

The husband has signs of borderline personality disorder. Perhaps the most obvious being that in he's actually pushing and alienating his favourite person by trying so hard to hold on to her. He needs treatment as he'll only get worse as he's come this far that the process of detachment would be more detrimental than his wife enduring another 10 years. I was concerned because i could see in his eyes that he wouldn't know what to do he'd rather kill himself which is what is scary.

I really am thankful that hello counselor has started dealing with problems more seriously and not just messing around! Also it's because if you watch earlier episodes, the concerns weren't as bad as they are now so the jokes made sense but now the MCs talk about divorce aswell and give really serious and helpful advice along with light hearted jokes! It's made the show more loveable and the different approach is really refreshing to watch! The girl in the third concern wasn't as bad of a concern to me. I believe her friends are her friends precisely because she's so adventurous. The only problem is from their point of view is that although they may not mind taking pictures sometimes, they aren't as passionate or obsessive as she is about taking them. The danger part is debatable because some of the most memorable and talked about pictures are in dangerous climates, like war photos for example. From the photographer's perspective, these pictures will tell the story as well as the words ever could. Reading about the civil rights movement is far different from seeing actual footage of it's hardships. What she needs to do is become a photographer. Whether freelance or full time. Because she obviously has the talent and passion to do it. However, she needs to stop relying on her friends to take her pictures for her. Give them more time and attention but her friends also must be understanding of her passion. I really hope she pursues that profession in the near future.

My mom has a friend who was in kind of similar situation with the wife in the first concern. Her husband followed her to everywhere she needed to go except from workplace although he's a freaking busy doctor. Later when their son grew up he continued his father's role by following his mom. I knew it because she always came to my house with his son. I used to hang out with that boy when I was a kid but recently I couldn't stand him anymore. He talked to me in such a rude way, used words like "give me", "show me" all the time. Although another guy friend said that he was fine with him. I think the son started to develop his controlling, patriarchal attitude towards girls and even his mother.
