Mark. Such a beautiful house. You found a place with character. The living room looks great with that furniture placement. One change: go with your initial idea of placing the TV in the corner next to the fireplace, only ANGLE it. Set it on a low credenza or something similar but at an angle to the corner, so it doesn't fall in the same plane as the fireplace. The living room is a common space, primarily for conversation and social interaction. A TV on the mantle above the fireplace makes it dominate the room. Placing the TV at an angle in the corner makes it an easily accessible option to whatever social interaction is taking place. Sorry to geek out about this to the exception of your content lol.
