Back to the Future has a lot of reactions, so that might be a good choice as far as growing your channel. Star Wars seems to bring in a lot of people as well. If you like more absurd humor, I'll recommend Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail, the Naked Gun movies, and Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. (Don't worry about Evil Dead 1, its a straight horror and ED2 is part remake/reboot). Otherwise 12 Monkeys is a great movie that I don't think too many reactors has gotten around to yet if you are trying to jump ahead of the curve.

All the characters in the movie are the amped up versions of the real stereotypes in Hollywood. - Tugg Speedmen; The action movie guy with a ton of really successful, yet stupid movies who doesn't do any of his own stunts and is not very good at actual dramatic acting. - Jeff Portnay; The coke head stand-up comedian with a bunch of low brow fart comedy movies with redicous makeup. - Kirk Lazarus; Hollywood's most pretentious oscar winning actor, so pretentious he doesn't even understand what "blackface" means, also refuses to drop character. - Alpha Chino; The poser DJ/Rapper that's not very good, sold out to every ad company imaginable, and is the complete opposite of his public persona in real life. - Kevin Sandusky: Child star's first endeavor into real film and is just kind of an awkward dork that never had the chance to develop social skills. - Damien Cockburn: Director that doesn't know what he's doing and is overwhelmed by the pressures of the set. - Four Leaf; Guy who wrote a "true story" full of bullshit but got a movie deal anyway. - Les Grossman; This character was basically a characture of Harvey Weinstein... but somehow less gross. Even Cody; The shady, unqualified yet cheap demolition guy that has a worrisome disregard for safety and will probably get someone killed. Everyone who works in Hollywood knows one or more of these people in some fashion in real life, hence the brilliance of some of the writing =P

Yes; a sense of perspective/personal experience can make individual jokes so much more funny for people. I was a passenger in an accident years ago and took a shot to the head, but beforehand growing up I literally scored as high as they could measure on placement tests in school. There's a court case I cited showing that I lost enough to qualify as disabled for retarded cognitive function (even though I still actually score in the top 2%,) so all the stuff Ben Stiller is talking about ~16 minutes into the reaction are SO much funnier (as "that which doesn't kill me gives me unhealthy coping mechanisms and a dark sense of humor that could make a platoon of Marines throw up.") But I can guarantee that 98% of people would barely chuckle at best while I'm holding back tears. The "10 second Tom" scene in 50 First Dates is probably the funniest thing I've ever seen in my entire life as my real name is Tom too but to most people it's just a little laugh (plus it's more like 30 seconds IRL.)

Blackface is what goes on in minstrel shows. IE: It hasn't gone on for a long time. It is not the same thing as an actor putting make up on for a role. Blackface specifically was done by people to make fun of the stupidity of black people. Big HUGE difference. Blackface is a specific thing, not a general thing. It applies specific to that kind of performance art. Alan Rickman was British, not German. Would you have someone else play Hans Gruber in Die Hard even though Rickman was brilliant? What RDJ did is called.... Acting. People gain weight, lose weight, put in contacts, change their hair. It's acting. Jennette Goldstein who played Vasquez in Aliens looks nothing like a traditional Hispanic woman, but she changed her hair, wore contacts, different make up, and poof, suddenly she was latina. Great performance. Wouldn't change the actress.

I still remember how I watched the making of this film. A member of the film team said in an interview that this film was the ideal opportunity for the film industry to act out its self-loathing. Against all imaginable clichés that one associates with Hollywood and the film industry.

I remember watching this in the theater, the part where the nerd is explaining the paradigm shift from dvd’s to blu-ray to Robert D jr’s character. “Were you talking to me this whole time?!” I laughed so hard at that part because the nerd is literally talking for 2-3mins before that. One of the funniest movies of all time.

:) So far none of the reviewers who themselves have a darker skin tone I saw were offended by RDJs role, on the contrary - they all enjoyed it as much as Mell here. Methinks the complaints must have all come from people who didn't see the movie and missed the little detail that here the joke is on people who use blackface, method actors who overdo it and companies who to this day often cast white actors in non-white roles. And it's pure joy to see RDJ playing this character, a guy giving 200% for his role in a stupid war movie... :D

I used to work for an insurance company and yes, an employer can take out a life insurance policy out on an employee because there is an insurable interest, especially if it is something like a movie studio and a star actor where if the actor died, the movie would suffer because of it.

I'm watching this 100 subscribers video & you have 20k subscribers now which is awesome. I saw the unrated version of this movie which is different in some spots (and MUCH funnier) and it is one if the best parodies of the movie industry. Ben Stiller thought of this concept when he was an extra in "Empire of the Sun" and in fake boot camp. Robert Downey Jr, Brandon Jackson, and Tom Cruise are my favorite parts. The RDJ and Brandon Jackson shit is fucking HILARIOUS!!! They played off each other really well (there's a lot of improv - that's also why RDJ's character was changed from Irish to Australian, cause he's more comfortable improvising with an Aussie accent). The movie is VERY not pc, even at the time it was released let alone 12yrs later. But it's funny as hell.

The key to blackface working in this was definitely that it's completely used to punch up at actors who are up their own ass, not punch down at black people, and is called out in the movie itself. I remember folks making a way bigger deal out of the frequent use of the word "retarded" at the time.
