The origins of the first HALLOWEEN movie began when Irwin Yablans, an indie movie distributor, said he wanted to release a movie about Babysitter Murders. That simple premise was his idea -- something scary with young actors. John Carpenter was eager to give it a shot, co-writing a script with Debra Hill, and they created Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, etc., and set the story at Halloween. Yablans loved that Halloween had never been used as a movie title before. "Dr. Loomis" was named after a character in PSYCHO (1960). John Carpenter's next job was directing Kurt Russell as ELVIS (1979) for Dick Clark Productions on ABC-TV.

It's crazy if you watch the making of this movie and how much it cost, vs the return when it was released, something like $325k to make, and made almost $80 million. It really kicked off the slasher genre. Btw I loved all the "RAH"s! Also curious what shirt you were wearing? Looks like it could double as a Christmas sweater

There are 13 films and 4 different timelines. The original 6 are one timeline OG 1&2, H20 and Resurrection is the second, There are the 2 Rob Zombie remakes of the OG first two films. And then 4th timeline is the OG 1, Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and then Halloween Ends. 😂

Just know that no matter how fast you run, you will never be able to run faster than Michael Myers can walk. 🤪 The end credits stating that Michael is 23 is an error. He was 6 years old at the start of the movie, and rest of the movie takes place 15 years later. That means Michael is actually 21.
