South Australia here: I've seen it before in the outlaw world. A Prospect or Hang Around doesn't do shit wrong and he's hit once and then a group kicking starts just because they can. Same with members from another chapter they either don't think much of or they consider to be rivals. It's the same with football clubs, skinheads, surf clubs. There's always someone that is either out of control or the paranoid or the opportunist type looking to make a name for themselves. Your patch is your armour against outsiders - but when you become the outsider, the brotherhood ends.

You’re right: this isn’t unique to the Hell’s Angels. A similar thing happened to me in a club. All it takes is to piss off a regional officer, even when he’s done something wrong against club rules, and it all starts to swirl down the bowl then. There are cliques in every club. If you’re not in the clique, it can happen. And there’s all kinda politics. Different chapters don’t like other chapters or regions. A regional officer can get you kicked out bad for nothing! Especially when money is involved. If you get too close to another region or chapter, some other chapter might get pissed off. “So, you wanna be one of them now?” Maybe it was the Daly City hat that did that. There’s a lot to talk about. Maybe I’ll see you at Pee Wee’s and we can talk.

Two comments.. First, I crossed paths with Pee Wee once at an event. Biggest human I've ever seen in my life. And I'm not a small man. Would love to have beers and listen to his stories..... Secondly, I was in a club for 10 years and left in good standing. Anyways, when I was a prospect I had to escort a few of the members wives to a drag show at a gay bar. We're not even there for 5 minutes until I look over and I see a member of a well respected club (not the one spoke on these stories) dressed up in Drag with all of his fellow "lady" friends 😂 I was like WTF😅 And I'm thinking Im supposed to Worship the ground this guy walks on. I started hanging around gangs around the age of 11 and just from dumb crimes I did I ended up in the California Youth Authority at 15 years old serving 5 years 8 months, before I went I thought in my mind gangs were solid, just for an example lets say the bloods, I had assumed if you were a blood all other bloods respect you, have your back, a blood is a blood, but once I hit CYA and seen what gangs REALLY were it was a shock. I soon learned no one is equal! I always pictured a gang as a WHOLE, one big gang, but I seen it was made up of a bunch of small hoods and that they all think they are better then the next, they plot on each other, they steal, kill, and hurt each other, abuse each other, set each other up, snitch on each other, accuse each other of being snitches while a lot of them were also snitching, breaking all the codes and rules of the gang, people were unorganized and there would be LAMES that weren't shit gaming up all the rest of the gang so much they believe he is the shot caller when he is not even good, it was a constant head game and it was EVERY GANG! I would see these true OGs that were solid as fuck put in work and end up in there and his "HOMIES" in there would be "WANNABEES" so there was about 8-9 of these certain gang, but they all seemed fake as fuck, and they were lazy and disrespectful, so the OG gets in there and he starts really gaming them up and lacing their boots, making them work out, making them follow the gang rules, and these dudes being wannabees didn't understand the REAL gangster, and they didn't want to have to work out, they didn't want to have to wake up at 4am and be ready for war, they didn't want to be REAL and put in the work this OG was all about so what do they do? They vote him out and say he is LAME! They made up some bullshit on the guy then when he shot a kite out to CDC nobody believed him because it was 1 guy against the WORD of those 8-9 guys! They got that OG that was legit in bad standings for nothing! Later over my 5 years there and other institutions I would slowly watch over the years all those guys fall off! If they followed along with the OG and had his back they would have all been somebody for their cause but at the end of the day the "CAUSE" used them for what was needed and spit them back out lol

I was in the hospital due to a motorcycle accident back in 73 on the same floor as Tommy Norton was dealing with his loss of his arms. He would come into my room after visiting hours to shoot the shit. I just saw that he past away a few years ago. I’ve always been an 81 supporter, but often thought about how Tommy’s life turned out. I saw that he remained an active member until his death. RIP Tommy.

These clubs aren't what they used to be like it was in the beginning. Once money and business became a part of it, the fun and brotherhood went to hell. Motorcycle clubs were about brotherhood, partying and raising hell. Look at the old documentaries on the HA and other clubs. It's a far cry from the 50's and 60's. The only way clubs are going to survive is if it goes back to that. The members all knew each other before they were in the clubs and strangers were mud checked before they was allowed to even come near them. Plus rivalries weren't like they are now. Back then you didn't have clubs going to extremes like today. It was a typical bar fight and they went their separate ways. These clubs need to wake up and get it together, especially when the feds are constantly trying to infiltrate and cause problems. Also with the politics and Christian Nationalists wanting to run things, it's going to get worse.

A lot of wise advice in this interview. I stick to the dew guys in my small veteran mc. We have a sister club. I say my hellos and good byes at functions but when we do function we stick and stay tight. I don't talk much and fraternize but just enough to show respect. And leave it there. Keep it small keep it tight it can be a very good happy family of Brothers and sisters. But I tread that line once and walked away for two years. I've seen some shit. Damn near got cough up n some. Sure as hell learned and hopefully not he hard way. For some it's best to stay a hangaround.

Since this is open for comment? I'm not affiliated in any way with the club, but "imagining" myself as an HA.....If I'm to meet up with another member, and dude hasn't showed up? I would feel that my priority is that person's well being, and not take off.....I would keep making calls, or at least confide with the leadership about my delima and whether it's ok to leave? Also, if i were at another clubhouse, i would definitely check with someone before hitting up the fridge, unless i had already visited a bunch of times? There could be more to this, and i don't want to misunderstand? Peace out......

He had to be in NYC for a photo shoot. HA does a calendar shoot at the end of every year. October 2005, he was headed to NYC. He couldn’t wait in Cleveland anymore because he was pressed for time. If you are a full patched HA you have pretty much every privilege in the clubhouse.
