This series wasnt the best but i loved its overt focus on Seras as the main character and Alucard as the more omnipresent force of the series. it really helped introduce the world and concepts in a meaningful way regarding her struggle with blood and losing herself versus her new reality.

Very little does she flourish she drinks her baes blood and becomes a badass and is usually quiet from then on. The original Seras was less doll like and had more oomph to her character. Also the original Hellsing had one of my favorite soundtracks and it fit perfectly and Alurcard actually had an enemy that was a match for him. It was nice. Hellsing ultimate was good to don't get me wrong but the enemies were over the top, and I think the major was probably one of creepiest and most evil enemies I've ever seen so props.

Ok I just combined both anime to make the perfect Hellsing -Keep Integra’s appearance from the tv-show -Focus on Seras’s journey to becoming a vampire -Make Seras less of a fan service character -have the Nazis besides the major be less arrogant -keep the music from the Tv show -keep the art style of ultimate -Keep alucard’s the same as ultimate, nothing changes about him Finally have the whole Nazi plot after Alucard fights incognito. After the incognito fight, there should be a month time skip so the organization is repairing when the Vatican tells them about millennium. Then the story plays out like in ultimate There a perfect anime

Though the animation maybe seen as dated by today's standards and ultimate is viewed as the definitive show which showcases both allucard and the world of hellsing itself, both the op track and sequences did their jobs well by showing another kind of hell (not as gritty and gruesome as ultimate) but still very much nightmare fuel for its time. No matter how much time passes, this op track still causes my body to shiver from the inside-out.

original show had its own mood that was good, and shouldve translated to the ova. Cool as fuck backgrounds, shot composition, and best of all that sound track. But the manga went more epic action near the end and they were going for a panel for panel adaptation even Hirono's poor humour that didnt translate well.
