Eton has come so far! I know you are very proud of him. Also thank you for including the walk back to the barn or trailer in your videos. Lots of people share the exciting runs, but not everyone shares the aftermath! Love to see how you take care of that sweet man.

100%. Love seeing that immediate aftercare. And his random issue with shadows.

Oh beloved Eton, that last fence was a pony moment if ever there was one. Hugs to the littlest wild Friesian. Amazing work, Elisa.

I have such a soft spot for Eton, the mighty little Friesan. Also, really enjoyed and laughed at the running commentary you have with Eton throughout your ride. "Who knows; maybe another time." you'll be jumping the bigger fences with Eton and Wy. Thank you so much for your helmetcams; they are definitely the next best thing to being there. And, I really enjoy watching the cool off walk back to the barn and the little debrief at the end. Super videos, Elisa -- you and your horses are the best on KZbin. :)

I have been catching up on Eton’s early days with you. Your patience with him and his progress are both wonderful to see! I love how he looked at the bigger fences, like, “Mom, can I jump those, please???”!

Eton! He has such a smooth gallop, very energy conserving rather like a thoroughbred loping along! He must be lovely to ride. He could gallop along like that all day.

Was it hard to get him into a barn or stall at first? He is lovely. I will look for earlier videos of him. An acquaintance had a mustang that did very well in general but was prone to shying while they were in fields etc. Eton is prettier!
@WallaceEventing3 жыл бұрын
He’s always been this way. It’s on Eton’s time.
@titanbuck73 жыл бұрын
When he finally got a good spot, and you were thankful for it, was that because you kind just let him decide the specifics so he learns how to put himself nicely into a jump later by having to make more decisions ar earlier levels? Some ppl have said the rider is supposed to get the horse to the jump but I have only been so successful at that. I have a hard time getting the horses to the jumps the way I want...they just tend to throw their headd up and ignore and charge...somewhat.

He kept going past the distance. Finally got one that was right on stride.

I have tried to figure this out before and maybe there is no other answer than what you have said before about how they are all different.... But WHY do you think he is so skittish? Maybe I just don't know horses enough to know some are just like that. I wonder do you think something happened to him at some point? Was he somehow spooked by people early in life? Was he older and more set in his ways when captured? Any thoughts? I guess I want a magic answer and there isn't one! He just seems so different from your other mustangs as far as being laid back. Maybe it's a question for a Thursday night chat? I love my Eton and could ask questions about him all day! Thanks Elisa!

Every Horse is different. He was 6yo when he began training. It’s just a little bit of who he is and just like how people can take time to trust others, same goes for horses. I don’t know what exactly happened to him. I can only help him by getting him to trust me. Really he’s only been in training for 2yrs. He was wild for 6. It’s all about perspective. Annnnd. Sometimes it just takes time.
