Yes, I think too many people in UK forget how much medical services cost in places like the US. Even with expensive insurance our out of pocket expenses can be huge ! And for some medical expenses can be disastrous. BTW Paris in the fall is absolutely gorgeous.

That was some miles to go with crew member Paul on virtually no duties, great to have good friends.The route did look lovely. Oakhams have been brilliant helping and fiixing with the boats needs. The exhibits we saw in the Association of Animal Artists looked incredible. Totally agree Anthony. We've been so lucky to have had the NHS all our lives. I was thinking about you last week when I went for an ultrasound on my shoulder - still healing from that fall. I've been given brilliant treatment all the way along including fantastic physiotherapy all free. ❤

Your artwork is beautiful mr man 👍 I had my detached ret op 40 years ago at the old St Paul’s… I was 21… the youngest on the ward by about 40 yrs! 😂 it was an old Nightingale ward … so kinda Dickensian … but was a good hospital… had another eye op in the old Royal … it was excellent… I’m an ex NHS nurse so I’m glad you had a good experience. And yer man has looked after you… my ex was an A&E nurse… I nearly cut my finger off… she just told me to not bleed on the floor 🤷‍♀️😂…fab video too! 👍

I am sure Paris will be such as beautiful in the Fall. Take it easy Paul. Falling down on the towpath can’t be good for your body or your eye the day after surgery!! Take care of yourself. Hey Kathy. He got a telling off that day. He could have just stayed put and waited. I think the programme may be available in 🇺🇸 in the future. We did have fun filming. We have parted company with Tony and Karen but we are now with Saul and Debbie. We have also met up with Neil and Cheryl who we haven’t seen for almost 2 years. We have had some fun evenings. 😊. Paul, I hope your eye is all better now! My dog doesn't have any joint issues, but she's a big girl, & I stir a capsule's worth of a turmeric & ginger root supplement into her food once a day as an anti-inflammatory. (Don't know if Dexter would like this in his food, but it sounds like the shots he's getting are doing him good). Anthony, I'm sorry you had to put off your birthday trip to Paris, but I'll bet when you do go, it will be a great experience. Thanks for the vlog! 💖💖💖

Dexter is really fussy about us putting stuff in his food. 😂. The shots are definitely helping him but we can’t do anything about muscle wastage due to old age, bless him. We have re booked Paris and I can’t wait. Never been so looking forward to it. Have a good weekend ❤️

What a really interesting week of travels you both had. It would have been better without the eye problems Paul and I hope all is completely well now. I had a similar eye experience, and hospital stay, a number of years ago with almost losing my eye after cataract surgery in my thirties. It’s so boring when you can’t watch TV or read. That’s when I discovered audio books and have never gone back to print.

Hey Nicholas. We are made up with Narrow Escapes. Fingers crossed Paul’s sight comes back fully. Dexter is incredible. We can see him really slowing but he really good for his age. 😂, can you imagine him letting me dye his fur 😂. We do feel like things have improved. I think Anthony that you had better wrap Paul in bubble wrap for a while what with his detached retina and falling on the towpath you’ve had quite the time. So glad to see he’s getting better and hope you make the Paris trip in the not too distant future. Lovely video as usual, hopefully your eye is totally healed up now Paul, the animal art was just stunning, so much artistic talent on show👍🏼. Glad they let you change your hotel for June, Paris in June should be great, they’ve had a slow spring with loads of rain so hopefully it will be nice and sunny . Not much new this week here, I’ve been checking out stained glass patterns trying to find one I really like and have the space to display. I’ve started to plant a few flowers, I’m going to make a pretty garden where Jynx is buried. I’ve been reading, doing my crafts, looking after grandkids and all the animals for a few days while daughter and son in law have travelled for their respective jobs. Two dogs, Loki is a Golden Doodle and as big as a pony, if he gets loose he heads strait for the ocean which is two houses away past us. It’s a real worry because he’s not that bright and runs right across the highway that runs along the ocean and he’s so big I can’t even walk him never mind convince him to get out of the water. It’s a big mess to clean him up too😳. Two cats with 3 litter boxes, a fish, a Gecko who also likes to escape, he was loose in the house for about 6 months last time. There were no spiders to be seen all that time so that was a plus, he was discovered under the fridge eventually. Enjoy your weekend and your trip to Paris🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

Hello Paul, Anthony and Dexter Dog, Paul, I’m glad you're OK after you slipped on the mud, good job you fell on your right side, as had it been on your left side you may have ended up in the canal. Yikes! I remember back 60+ years ago St Pauls’ in Liverpool were at the top of their game then. Very pleased you’re getting better. I always find it interesting when you talk about your electric consumption. I suppose it’s a bit like your water usage, with the electric do you adopt the same strategy re: only use electric when really needed. Are you able to cut down? Cooking has to be done, and who would not want Anthony to stop cooking his amazing meals? You and Oakhams have been amazing together. Should CRT start installing charging points along the canal? Because electric boats are the future. But having said that, Diesel boats will be phased out, but it might be a different energy source and not electric that becomes the preferred power supply. You will love Paris when you eventually get there. It’s such an amazing place. Lovely cruise. Good to see Mummy Duck with all her children. Nature can be so wonderful. Sharing a bed conversation with Anthony was really funny. Paul, a Great exhibition. Well done on that. Good to see you with other known YT boaters on the launch of Narrow Escapes. Hey Spoolbox. We are so lucky that Paul got to have his eye done at St Paul’s. It is slowly getting there. We are lucky that we can use pretty much what we want electric wise. I do think charge points may become the norm along the canals. I can’t wait to visit Paris. Never been before so looking forward to exploring. Nature is amazing and we do feel closer to it on the boat. The exhibition was fabulous. So much talent under one roof. We had an amazing time filming for channel four.
