Help! We need tips to care for thin hair!

I’m not hair expert. I’ll be the first to admit that I need some help when it comes to caring for hair. I think my own mom brushed my hair about 5 times in my childhood 😂 because we’re just not hair people. I need your easy go to tips and tricks to caring for thin hair. My hair was exactly the same as my daughter’s when I was her age and it really didn’t improve until my 20s. This is what I’m trying, but certainly up for advice!

As an Indian I would say oiling hair (virgin coconut oil ) thrice a week has helped me a lot and I've been doing it since I was a child. Also leaving in oil on your hair may not be good for hair. It would be good to oil two or three hours before washing it off with shampoo and conditioner

Yes don't oil overnight. I only oil my hair 2 hours before shampoo. Also i don't agree using water before oiling as water is what makes hair fragile. Plus water doesn't mix well with oil. The coconut oil spray u use is watery enough.

@celestialstar124 yes...and I would be much better if you mix some herbs like curry leaves, aloe vera and others (I don't know the English names for them) and fry it in the oil and take out only the oil for using.

Kinley! You have a GORGEOUS smile, great skin, stunning eyes and smile. Your hair also appears to have a wave or curl to it. (Just like my beautiful sister!) You could keep it shorter for the summer, which will -- from a visual point of view -- frame your lovely, great facial features! It will also allow the natural curl/wave to do its magic, while preventing breakage. My green-eyed sister went around with short, curly/wavy hair and people thought she was a model! The practical upside is that it is SO EASY to care for, helps the hair and scalp, all while looking chic. Don't fight genetics. Work with the beautiful DNA you have! Kinley is lovely no matter what!

Kinley is so sweet ❤ my mom and sister have thin hair and the only thing thay truly helps is taking vitamins. We use rosemary oil at the root to make it grow fuller, also coconut oil and gentle brushing as you're doing Genetics is a wild thing though, their hair can never grow trully thick and strong. The vitamins have a limited power. It can still look beautiful though, and it is easier to take care of ❤

In INDIA what we do is, when a child has this kind of a thin hair .... we shave it all off with a razer or a blade , then it grow in a different texture. And yaaa this is a thing in my country. We do this with every infant when they are 1 year old and some things even at a 5 or 6 year old child. If you can you can do it. And it is a 100% effective way by the way😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

Kinley is really beautiful.!! I'm a hairdresser and I would say i never use bands in her hair at all. They are lethal for breaking the hair. When washing comb thru her hair with a gentle comb and then gently squeeze the curls and leave to dry. Just secure with a hairband. I promise you this works a treat...!!!

Leave in conditioner, detangle spray for the ends! I also think volumizing shampoo works, but Kinley is kinda little ❤ Oil on her ends is probably the best for the damage. She has very pretty hair 😊

Give children a glass of milk every day Trim hair by machine 2 times. Meatballs of 100 gram everyday. Rub scalp with extra virgin olive oil. Let absorn for 2 hours, then rinse. Don't wash their hair with hot water. Max 40 C. Donot use cheap shampoo. Go to drugstore and ask for hypoallergenic shampoo. Rinse well. From Türkiye (Turkey)

Very pretty girls. As Asian we use regular coconut oil on our hair, massage the scalp gently to encourage blood flow around the scalp, and leave it on overnight. It strengthens the hair roots. We rarely need to use commercial conditioner. My niece’s hair break easily. the dermatologist advised not to braid or tie the hair and to avoid the need for “pulling” to not grow the hair too long. Besides coconut oil, rosemary oil is also good for the hair and scalp but mix the drops with a carrier oil like castor oil or coconut oil.

What could help is: do a hair mask with raw egg. Wash the egg out of the hair and wash the hair a bit with shampoo. ( Because egg does not smell great) Hopefully this helps a bit. Much love from The Netherlands

I actually believe the hair breakage is dye to wet hair styling. You should not be putting water before oil. Wet hair is the most fragile state of hair. We usually don't want to damage hair when it's fragile (wet).

Give the children protein rich diet. Apply coconut oil and gently massage the head. Wash with diluted (with water) shampoo, but not daily.❤❤❤ While combing be a little gentle and trim the ends every 4 or 6 months. ❤

Hey Janess when I got Covid 2 yrs ago my hair was coming out by the handfuls. I googled what could help my hair come back in, I used Baby shampoo and added some different oils can’t recall right now but I have that and I found another shampoo on Amazon I think it’s called Resolve. Tested positive for Covid just recently and my hair is once again coming out. Also I have no Thyroid so that’s all jacked up. Good luck to you and Kinsley. Keep us updated!💗💗

Coconut oil eggs blend into mayo like paste apply as hairmask before bath mostly once a week is enough. If tolerate add little onion too. You wount be needing anything else. Not even conditioner.

You need to put detailer spray on her. She should not have breakage at this age. Take her to hairdresser and speak to pediatrician. She may need vitamins.
