I did the same thing with a 1985 Honda 450 Hawk. Great on the street, great on dirt roads, ok on fire roads, horrible on single track but it did make it through with a lot of effort. The bike looked purposeful, was fun to ride but did need better suspension. I changed fork oil, couldn't find different springs but I did put gas shocks on it. I called it an Africa Pygmy.

I appreciate it.
@BrickHouseBuilds6 ай бұрын
Well I appreciate you watching! The neutral light has power going to one side of the bulb. The other side is path to ground through the switch on the engine. You can test by putting a multimeter on continuity, one lead on the small threaded side of the switch and the other on the block somewhere. If it beeps when in neutral and stops when you shift it, the switch is good

I saw three videos, and, still, the bike is not done??? Will you finish this and show the finished product???
@BrickHouseBuilds27 күн бұрын
@PeterColl-b7h My big cx500 build had 60 videos in the series. Another had about 35 episodes. My revival videos usually have at least 3 to make them go down the road. This is also not my bike as it's Craigs. He and I both have many projects also. Making videos is not a simple task as there is planning, mechanical work, parts ordering, waiting for parts, the more mechanical work all while filming which slows bike progress to about 1/3 pace of normal. Enough footage has to be made to then make a video. Then there is editing, which takes about 1 hour for every 5 minutes you watch. It's a ton of work and a lot of juggling. You asked why
@PeterColl-b7h27 күн бұрын
@BrickHouseBuilds , I can appreciate that. I'm curious to see how it looks and performs. Will you make a video of the finished product? I like your videos, BTW, because you work on affordable bikes with affordable solutions to problems. Dying to see this thing finished. I like the idea of making an adventure bike out of a reliable older Honda. ;-)

@rochs16 ай бұрын
@brickhousebuilds @the_bearded_mechanic Instead of using heat, compressed air, etc...there is a much safer and easier way to get the caliper piston out. Get a bolt the same size and thread as the banjo bolt an put it in place of the banjo bolt. Then back out the zirk fitted a bit and hook a grease gun to it and pump the grease into the caliper. The pressure will push it out and once it is free it won't shoot anywhere. All you have to do then is clean the grease out of the caliper. MUCH safer. I've done this on countless calipers and its never failed.
@BrickHouseBuilds6 ай бұрын
Yes I actually have a video showing that method which works well. Very messy though!
