then why doesnt someone make a unit that you just put on your stereo bus to make it sound like api the box then or neve5060? and no the silver bullet DOES not sound anywhere near as good as api the box or 5060. so whats the problem
@77advanced2 ай бұрын
@barneyrubble8255 because it is little bit more than a summing boxes. It is not summing that determines the character of the sound, but the type of transformers and opamps at the output stage and inside the chain. In case of 5060, you can use pair of 542 on a digital sum and get that sound with a small amount of drive and red silk.
@barneyrubble82552 ай бұрын
you can not get two 542's to sound like a 5060 (weight depth and glue) show me this audio comparison lol and you can't get a stereo api 5500 eq with its opamp to sound like api the box. So whatever is going on inside 5060 and api box it isnt just throwing a stereo transformer and opamp on to the mixbus,
@barneyrubble82552 ай бұрын
@@77advanced as for the summing itself, i think there would need to be more examples than just one guy on youtube who used the dinkiest form of electronics and is hostile to summing, therefore bias, to proof conclusively that sending each channel through imperfect analog paths does nothing to the sound in every summer ... science works by repeatable experiments and varied experiments ...(the fab filter demo guy with the accent)
@77advanced2 ай бұрын
@@barneyrubble8255 I get what i want from api with 2500 and some pres. If you operate with terms like glue, depth and so on then again it is not what summing do.
