Forward DP10 2-POST LIFT INSTALL

I had the guys from Southern Industrial Supply come over and install my new Forward DP10A 2-post lift and made this video showing all the steps they took to assemble and install it. They were fantastic! I highly recommend purchasing through them and letting them install it for you if you are in the area (they are out of Winston-Salem NC and I'm in Greensboro).

Great work on the install and thanks for being open to having it videotaped. You were very patient and answered all of the questions you received. I am building a garage and planning for a 2 post lift. I understand that lifts can’t be installed close to floor cracks, but I was wondering if that was a consideration for relief cuts too. I see that you weren’t concerned about them for this installation, so that answers my question. I also have been debating about choosing a true asymmetric lift (rotated columns) to maximize vehicle door access. I am curious of your thoughts on the real pros and cons from your customers and how you would install a lift in your own shop since the DP10 can be installed with either rotated or parallel posts. Thanks!

Nice video! What is the width and length of your garage? It looks like you have about 2 feet walk around on the lift. Are you happy with that or do you wish you would have went wider?

I've been researching lifts for a month until I found this video , I have the same one coming from the same place since they're only an hour away from me. Forward is a great lift that I forgot about. Southern asked how I heard about them since they don't advertise at all , told him about your video - Thanks for posting

You couldn't have asked for a nicer more professional group of guys to do the installation and to film it in the real world was interesting. My neighbor had his installed by professionals as well and they made him shift his 2 post lift several inches away from the concrete relief cuts, they wouldn't install it otherwise. Hopefully you haven't seen any changes in that area for your installation. If it hasn't shown up yet it likely never will I guess.

Do you find this hoist is adaquete for lifting trucks and sedans and provides adaquete space to open the doors on both vehicle types?

I had a Forward DP97A lift installed in a pole building in Ohio in October 2017. I paid $750.00 for the job. The company usually charged $1000.00 for comparable job, but they gave me a break because I was a hobbyist and not a professional shop. Your guy was a real bargain, but I am guessing that his wages do not compare with what my installers got. North Carolina is a low wage state, and I'll bet living costs are much less, but you got a real bargain.

+Noah Borries no! Just a strong enough PSI concrete. You don’t want the bolts hitting rebar when you install it!

My suggestion Is Phil Leak Company in Norwalk, Ohio. Did mine in a couple of hours, and has been in since 2017 with no problems. They will cost you more than these NC guys, though.

@@jzannieri thank you! It was installed by another company but Herb from Phil Leak was great at helping me fix the lift because a truck got stuck on it. Apparently the hoses were never blown out and the lever that let's the vehicle down. There is a filter in there that was plugged with hose debris and a truck got stuck in mid air. He helped me diagnose and fix the lift over the phone because they were two months out. Thank you for the suggestion. Phil Leak company is my go to from now on.

I was watching the video and I noticed the locking system is about every 3-4inches but also that the locks rest on only about 1/4inch plate or does it lock in farther then that.
