Helvellyn in January - first time going across Striding Edge // the Lake District

Only been over twice and in completely different conditions, first time with a mate and the second with my son. Good to be nervous going over any edge, I have been over Sharp Edge 5 times and been nervous every time and I did every one in perfect conditions. Well done in getting over and onto the summit in what looked like challenging conditions and pleased you see you were rewarded with amazing views on the way down, the dying rainbow a real sight to behold and great views back into Glenridding. One thing I have found about shaving my head every night is I do not have to worry about me hair anymore 😉. Good watch, cheers Alan

Nice hike 👍🏼 Helvellyn is up there for being one of my favourite mountains. When the weather is clear the views are incredible as you walk along Striding Edge.

Great video, my wife and went to the Lake District in March and took to the fells for the first time, not this walk but we did make it up the Old Man of Coniston, via a very nice circular walk. I'm not great with heights, so videos like this are great to help me assess how difficult a walk may be. Your face just before heading onto Striding Edge said it all, well done for fighting your concerns and making it across and back again! I can see you've just started these videos, but adding more quickly - keep them up, they are very helpful. In terms of content perhaps a bit more detail about the route you are taking, possibly shown on a map, distance you are covering, kit you have with you etc. Really helpful for folks like us looking to do more hiking to know what experienced walkers are wearing / taking with them. Thanks!

Love Helvellyn, I have only been down Striding Edge, when I went, I imagine it must be more challenging hiking up that way but worth the effort. Amazing views too 👌🌈
