Epic views. Never done this one, a bit too tough for me ,well done for doing it, looked tough. £8 for parking!!! The food at the end looked good too 👍

Hi Shirley, A very tough walk indeed! I don't think I'd repeat the full route again. I found the Lake District generally to be more challenging than I'd anticipated. In some areas, it seems hard to avoid paying a high price for parking, sadly... Hope you have a good weekend. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I’d love to try this sometime, maybe one of the less scary routes up thou. 😊

Hi Rachel, I believe Swirral Edge is supposed to be less intimidating than Striding Edge. I hope you get up to Helvellyn, whichever route you take. Thanks for watching and commenting. Hope you have a good weekend.

Hi Nigel, I'm pleased to hear you've also experienced Striding Edge. I know some people feel intimidated at the thought. I hope to have the Fairfield Horseshoe video for you soon - another good day out. Hope you have a good weekend. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Good afternoon and happy Monday Olly this route is very much on our radar! With my vertigo and tinnitus I'm nervous of it, am sure your video will help make my mind up! Also we know this can be a busy route, intrigued to watch this one! Hope you are well, Ceri and Kat 🗺🧭👍💚⛰️

Hi Ceri and Kat, Well, I'd certainly recommend it. Wind noise cut out some of my commentary but I went on to say that it's not as scary as Crib Goch. I took a fairly high route. Most others opted to walk beside the edge where possible. It was indeed fairly busy on a Thursday in September! Thank you for watching. I hope you'll give it a go one day and have a good week.

I thought for sure that you two would have knocked this one out of the park by now. Is this a 2023 goal? No vlogs for 2 months. You both ok I hope x

Olly, a stunning day ☀ for that brutal climbing👣 and so worth it👍 Striding Edge looked fantastic high above Red Tarn👍 Cool to bump into someone you know at the summit. A tough and satisfying looking route👍 Shortbread is always good😊

Hi Gerry, Thanks very much for watching. A great day out indeed. I still a weakness for shortbread to this day! ;-) I was feeling particularly hungry that week. Hope you have a good weekend and all the best.

Decent outing there Olly. Don't you just love the steep inclines? It's the best for a cardio workout for sure. I wondered when you mentioned the jet what medieval people would think if they heard one. Probably think it was a mythical dragon. Well, great views as always up there. As for the map turning pages seems to be a small price to pay. But then again the OS maps had to be opened out fully from time to time. Well, good going. Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks very much for watching and commenting. I find it easy to forget how hard the hike to a scramble can be. No car park for the faint hearted! A suppose back then, they might perceive a plane as we would a UFO... But even today, we hear quake-like rumbles of thunder through the sky that baffle our senses. Hope you have a good weekend ahead and all the best.

@@WalksWithOlly A pleasure Olly. Good to hear of the challenge. Oh, yeah we do sense things, which still mystify us.

The views I've seen up there from other people's vlogs never fail to amaze me. No wonder you had blisters and bleeding foot after this one Olly. Do you use that Leukoplast to strap any 'not quite formed' blisters? Superglue, or 99p shop equivalent is good for cuts.

Hi Chris, Sorry for my greatly delayed response! I tend to use zinc oxide tape to cover most things, certainly cuts. Plasters tend to fall off or at least, the tape will hold them on. I sometimes pre-cover my heels in this tape before going out... Normally when doing a multiday walk but I wasn't thinking that way for this trip. Superglue is very handy also! Obvioiusly others might recommend Compede but they're not cheap for such a small pack and I'd often find that I didn't have the size I needed. Prevention is always better than the cure, or so they say! ;-) Hope you've been having a good weekend and all the best. Olly
