18 said she'd break his arm, and she wasn't joking. This episode had a few great lines. Vegeta: "Did anyone get the number of that *b17ch?"* 18: "18!" Vegeta: "Thank you..." That exchange was oddly kind of Vegeta. I think he genuinely respected her, but had to keep up the bravado. And yet, that sounded like an honest bit of gratitude. She could push him in a fight, and was actually a challenge in smack talking, which he probably appreciated. Remember, he gave Nail props for being able to go shot for shot with him for insults. He wants to win, but he'll acknowledge a worthy opponent. And dont forget Krillin. Krillin: "You pushed the "Goku" button... Ya shouldn't'a did that."

In the canon series, at this point in the show Vegeta is stronger than Goku. And he’s fresh off beating 19. The abridged series is obviously crasser, but he was every bit as cocky and overconfident in the canon show here, and got humbled for it

Pretty sure Goku's still stronger. He's had the experience of being a super saiyan for like 4 years by this point. Vegeta's only been a super saiyan for like maybe a week lol. Even Trunks admitted they stood no chance without Goku. That says a lot.
