This 1970 Challenger R/T with a 426 Hemi was found at a Pawn Shop in Detroit. It had been on craigslist for months with no takers, and my friend scooped it up after the price had dropped to just $30,000.
A real 1970 Challenger R/T, it is originally an orange car, 383 with a 4-speed manual. But someone swapped in a 426 Hemi from what he was told a 1969 Dodge Daytona. It sat in a barn, a warehouse, a backyard and now it currently resides in my friends garage where it is slowly having the hackery done to it straightened out.

It's a 383 R/T car with a 426 hemi motor. If it was a real hemi car then it would be an amazing deal, still a fair deal & I liked the video

For all of those people that rub themselves up against numbers then no you get to spend more money for that kind of thing but this guy scored well by now owning a hot rod he can drive on the streets like it was intended to from day one. Restore one with or without a catalog will net you more than this guy paid for his toy. Few issues as well as maintenance to make it street worthy is normal even for a golden birdcage that few ever see.

Decent car but the pawn shop knew it wasn't a real hemi car just a elephant motor transplant. Pawn shops know exactly what they buy brings on the market and that's why it was 30 k. If a real documented hemi car it would be well over 100k

You do realize there were less than 3K produced with a 383 4-speed? Plus this had leather, rear speaker, and who knows what else that wasn't mentioned on this vid. Ex brother-in-law had the same car in the late 80's he listed for parting out, motor and trans were used else where. Ol' MOPAR head came and told him he actually had something special, wouldn't steal it but gave him 3 times what he figured to get parting it out, and was happy to get it for that. Someone 'altered' it into what they wanted and I'm guessing this owner is putting most of it back except the hemi, and it didn't look like his only project.
