Sawing 2x6's from a big Hemlock log. This is lumber for my next kiln build video. I will need quite a few 2x6's and 2x4's plus I'm going to need a bunch of 1xsomethings too. Lots of sawing to do.

Yes, I was watching your toe board usage! 😁 Used the toeboards today (2x6's coincidentally and some 6x6's)..."up, up and away!"

Good video George. Sure doesn't look like the Hemlock I mill. Dave

I got two more hemlock logs coming so we'll see if they are similar.

Nice job rolling that monster! We found we need to stop rolling the log with the toe boards up, starting to cause some issues. Just gotta remember!

I bought an extra logstop to install on the other side of mill, just need a round tuit...

I’ve heard Hemlock holds up better with exterior use! It should work good with the moisture from the kiln and the weather! Maybe a couple of harbor freight winches mounted above the mill bed to turn the logs would save the back!

I like the hemlock, it's pretty dry for logs. For logs turning I've got the skidster.

What kind of sawyer doesn't have more tape measures than they know what to do with? (I jest of course.)

Should have got a hydraulic sawmill George 🤠🤠
@mcsawmill2 ай бұрын
I can't answer that. All I can say is my doctor said stay active and a manual mill definitely keeps you active ..

Since its been quite a while since I have watched or commented, time does get away so darn quick. You might just put some kind of sign saying when established for us guys who like but forgot when we started watching your channel. I am working on seventy five this year, still crippled and not able to walk without crutches. There was a time that I never missed a episode of your cutting lumber, I miss that and only can say that with being on the hard side of life, have started watching old western movies just to pass the time away. I get up sunday morning and the next thing I know.... Yeah, its saturday already. Biden cut our medicaid payments on medications and its made life quite difficult... Kinda like rolling that log when you were a lot younger and rolling it then was not such a issue for a man of say thirty plus years of age. Your mill has held up better than yourself as you now wish that any option of hydraulics had been possible to purchase would of been the better long term deal. I'm no longer witty or even smart since I have a hard time remembering my own name. Its just hard getting old, beats looking inside of a hemlock coffin tho.

@@mcsawmill That mill was pretty well new when I started watching.... when was that or year of your milling then??
