It's affordable yes, but not as much as it is in Australlia...I mean Mahindra pits it as an all-terrain SUV here in India and charges often a premium for the Top models for meagre features like Blind-spot cameras, but yeah overall it's a good tough car and easily goes against the likes of Jeep Cherokee here in India...with a few feature exceptions which can be considered Luxury here 😅

How does it compare to Prado?
@CampX4 Жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry Toyota Have not given me a Prado to test, but if you buy a Scorpio-N you can tour the whole of Africa, and it will cost less than just the Prado. Thanks for watching, regards Hendri

How does it compare to the Pajero?
@CampX4 Жыл бұрын
It is more refined on road a off, just as good as the Pajero on gravel road, like a train on tracks (120 to 130km/h but the car panic brake by itself from time-to-time at that speed, but only a mad person drives like that on a gravel road. But it was for testing.). Best fuel consumption I can get om my Pajero is 10km/L @ 110km/h cruise control. The Scorpio-N gave me 13km/L @ 120km/h cruise control, coming from Nelspuit, Mpumalanga. The start-stop is a pain, but luckily you can switch it off, unfortunately every time you start the car. I have asked Mahindra I want to drive it again at about 400 000 km. And it is priced very well. I do think it is a good car.

@@CampX4 I'm surprised you say it's more refined... Is that in terms of NVH, ride comfort, handling or something else? It's body on frame isn't it? Worse fuel economy, the dealer experience and the unknown quantity of long term reliability still leaves open some interesting questions...

The Pajero feels like a office chair and the Scorpio-N feels like lounge chair. Road holding is the same as the Pajero, maybe a bit better with all the new electronics. Look its good, well worth a test drive, take it to the open road. ( The fuel consumption above is measured in KM/L so the Scorpio-N has better fuel efficiency)
