Possibly the greatest heartbreak song of all time: “I don’t want to fade away! Give me one more day please. I don’t want to fade away!” Rips my guts out every time. Thanks for this.

Honestly this is one of the best lessons I've seen, thanks for this video. It moves at exactly the right pace. Very annoying when lessons treat the viewer as if they've only just picked up the guitar! Thanks for uploading

9:48 No, you're wrong, Henry. Normally when listeners listen someone sing, they know if he can sing or not, and your little _I don't wanna_ is enough for us to believe that you can sing beautifully! Love you, man! Consider my comment and sing sometime(wink)!

Thanks very nice breakdown of Eric's style you can hear the genesis of this song in his version of "Nobody Knows You" clearly showing his early acoustic blues influences. Looking forward to more video's from you.

Henry I am truly digging your videos. Because unfortunately I started playing like 40 years ago and stopped I am just starting again. So I’m just looking at chord charts and learning new chords as best as I can. I have been going straight to your videos. They are really good. Any suggestions for what beginners should learn first? I really want to get better at the little riffs between chords. Any suggestions? Thanks Henry I really appreciate your teaching methods. God Bless.

Great lesson!...Another concept to start the solo is to spell out the E chord and then continue on with the solo...(I see it more as a C maj pentatonic with the added fourth)

Close but... Watch the Clapton video from this recording. The chorus turnaround is a simple one note change from an A to an Ab. Not D to E. Very subtle.

I really appreciate the way you put this together. Thanks. learned this from the exact same video. In fact he does use first position A and G and does Not go to the 3rd and 5th frets. He also does not barre the F#. instead he uses an odd triad and a dyad instead of a full G# and F#, his F# equivalent being G# on the G string and a D on the B string. that's all he does. Nathan East on 5 string base is picking up some of the lines you have integrated, or so it seems to me. EC definitely uses his thumb for the F on the first fret and there are a couple other surprising simple and efficient things he does. Part of his genius is that he finds the most economical ways possible to use the horizontal geography of the neck. the thing is, you have truly nailed the sound he's getting, which goes to show how many ways there are to get the right thing in different ways. But i have seen him play this song using your positions too. Anyway, your video gets it the most exactly of the ones I've seen. It happens all the time with EC. I figure out the sounds and then see he's doing it in a much more logical concise way, so i relearn it. I wish I knew theory , which would help cement the logic. I am lucky that my ears work because I get it all by sound.

I think the beauty in this lesson is you can take everything here and apply it to the "original" acoustic version. (Since I'm not a fan of the balcony version lyrical flow.) Thanks for a great lesson video. Also, this song should have been on Unplugged...EC needs to get with Bobby Whitlock and do an acoustic version. /endrant
