Hennessey Venom F5 Accelerations, Flaming Up Shifts & 1800HP Twin-Turbo 6.6L V8 Engine Sound!

Here's a video about the furious Hennessey Venom F5 hypercar doing a dynamic demo of its performance on the tight Goodwood hillclimb course during the 2022 Festival of Speed.
The car is powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, called 'Fury' by Hennessey guys, which is able to produce 1,817 hp at 8,000 rpm and 1,617 Nm of max torque at 5,000 rpm. Kerb weight of the F5 is just 1,385kg. Watch it in action driven by Alex Brundle!

Honestly you’d expect a low redline from such a turbocharged high-displacement engine- but it revs angrily all the way to 8k rpm which might be my favorite part about it aside from it sounding like an old school muscle car at idle. It’s not a screaming V12 at 11k, but it’s like they ripped out satan’s heart and wrapped it in a supercar.

Um no it’s a car focused on top speed. The reason the Chiron doesn’t have those issues is because it weighs 5000lbs and is designed to be a GT car. Not to menu Bugatti had 100x the design budget

it needs more high-speed compression damping and stiffer springs in the rear. supension tuning front vs rear is wonky. it definitely needs a wing as well if you want to turn a corner at any kind of speed

I'm in the minority here, but man I'm tired of forced induction engines. They're boring in my opinion. Everything is asthmatic now and needs inhalers to get performance. I prefer natural aspiration.

@@tobywonkinoby8916 You probably can't. But for me it's not just about horsepower and torque. Look at the LT6 in the new Z06. That is currently the pinnacle of normally aspirated engine design. 670 horsepower from just 5.5 liters of displacement is very impressive in my opinion. My lack of enthusiasm for forced induction is similar to my disinterest in electric car performance. They have instant torque and insane acceleration and yet I couldn't care less. They are soulless and boring. An appliance. A refrigerator with wheels.

Never liked Hennessey that much if I'm honest. He should hire some suspension engineers. That car might look good on a very smooth race track but it seems it can't cope with bumps. I would not want to hit one in a fast corner.

The vehicle dynamics were developed by John Heinricy, one of the foremost suspension/chassis guys on Earth. If the car is unsettled here, it's because it was adjusted for something else, not because it is not capable.
