I was not planning on turning this into a video, which is why I did not bring my camera gear with me when meeting Henrik Fisker, although now looking back it would have been a great idea. So bear with me as I try to learn more about the new Fisker Ocean, but also the upcoming PEAR and Ronin models from the man himself.

Fisker is right. Who the heck wants an old battery. I take care of my stuff, why would I want someone else’s leftovers

Yeah, he definitely has a point there. It will be interesting to see if battery swapping actually takes off in places like Europe or North America. Even if it does, it will most likely never be anywhere near as popular as it is in China.

Big Fisker fan but I have a forward-thinking concern. What happens if there is a recession, will this company survive? The 2008 recession had GM, Chrysler and even Ford on the ropes, only government intervention helped them survive..

Well, considering Magna is building the vehicles for Fisker and it doesn't look like it's going to go under, I think it does stand a chance of surviving. It's a very difficult moment to try to launch a new automaker, and the road to profitability is long, but I actually like the Ocean and Fisker's philosophy towards making cars, so I hope the company succeeds this time. And the Big Three needed government help because they are big, cumbersome and very slow to adapt to changes. I mean they've had Tesla to look over the fence at for a decade and only now are they starting to really get on the EV train... Frankly they're a bit hopeless and at this rate they may need future government bailouts :D

@@OneTireFire Agree somewhat however, Magna building the vehicles is NO guarantee of survival. If a recession hits people will have to pull in their financial horns and they will not be able to buy thus the factory orders will stop. Again, look at Tesla, it launched many years ago and just recently achieved sustainability. Fisker is a needed company, I like the products but....Maybe I am being too cautious but there ill also be an influx of Asian vehicle manufacturers such as Vinfast, NIO and hopefully many others. A crowded field in a recessionary market, only companies backed by BIG money will be able to withstand the financial hurricane. China and Vietnam have the will power and the money. Will the financiers and the Fisker stock price hold fast in a recession? Stay tuned in.

@@2cartalkers I think this is one of the most exciting companies to watch. I, because I am a fan of Mr. Fisker's designs, want them to succeed, but only time (and the market) will tell.

Being one of the few that reads contracts, I was going to place an order for the Ocean however, there were no guarantees of production dates or even if a person would get the vehicle they wanted. Add to this the PEAR may well be a great vehicle but why would anyone place an order on a vehicle they have not seen (no photos, no specs, etc?) I do not like one-way streets where a person is asked to pony up money on the if/come. Building and launching a new car company is very tough. Look at Tesla, it almost went bankrupt. Go further back and look at the 3 other brands that were new to the market; Lexus, Infiniti and Saturn. Saturn failed, Infiniti limps along and only Lexus did well. 66% failure rate.

Launching a new automaker is one of the toughest endeavors one could embark on, I think, especially when you have established players in the industry that really don't want to see you succeed. There are so many factors to take into account, so many pieces that you need to fall into place, and I think it's the sheer complexity that makes it daunting and that's before even thinking about how to fund everything. I really do admire those who set out to launch their own car brand, and for Mr. Fisker maybe this second attempt will be successful, in spite of analysts' reserved prognoses on his chances of actually doing it. The Ocean seems like a credible EV that people (such as yourself) would be willing to part with their hard-earned cash for, but I totally get it why you backed out of it when reading the parts of the contract that you mentioned here... Production of the Ocean is set to begin in November, with the first vehicles reaching customers in September of 2023. I'll wait a few more months before starting to draw conclusions.

Hes stock isnt low,i would never buy the stock until its about 3 times cheaper!
