I recently lost my dad less than six months after losing my mom. I drive trucks so was not able to get there in time to see either of them before they passed. Watching your videos has helped me cope because you remind me so much of my dad. He wasn't big on firearms, but your mannerisms, the way you talk... you even look a little like him. I just want to say thank you for making such great content and I really hope that I get the opportunity to meet you one day. God bless, srat safe, and live every day knowing you make a difference. ❤

The Henry Big Boy looks like every cartoon and comic strip depiction of a non-descript revolver, ever. It's a mishmash of visual style in a way that brings familiarity to mind, while not copying any style that came before it. For that reason alone, it's unique and awesome.

Henry has been diversifying a lot the last few years. They First they added more lever action options, some with King's gate loading. Then they came out with the Homesteader, a 9mm semi-auto, but they kept their classic style they have so it does not seem too out of place in their line-up. Now these revolvers, which are new designs, but have a classic feel. Looks like they have not been sitting idly by hoping the lever actions stay popular.

I've spoken to him a number of times over the years, and I can say he and the company care about all their customers. I've never had to return a Henry. I still own my original Big Boy 44, stamped Brooklyn NY, where they started. Load on Sunday and Shoot All Week Long. Made in America, or not made at all. America works when you buy American. 2:20 Well, Chiappa Rhino actually uses a more or less unique cylinder release design: a left side lever that is pulled down to release the cylinder. Henry just uses the same S&W push-forward button, that is also used by Taurus/Rossi, Charter Arms, and Sarsilmaz :)
@ldsmith1979
@ldsmith1979 11 ай бұрын
I bought one of these two months ago. It went out of time the day after purchase. I sent it for service, it came back with cosmetic issues, and was sent back again to be replaced. The 2nd one had horrible milling marks on the side of the frame by the cylinder release as well as thin bluing where the barrel meets the frame, the metal looked brownish. Henry support agreed it looked bad, and said they would replace it again. The 3rd one again had a problem with the bluing where the barrel meets the frame, it looked brown in sunlight. The 4th one has good bluing, but has the same milling issues as the 2nd one, this time on the crane it looks like stripes in the metal, and the cylinder has multiple small gouges in the cylinder. I am currently trying to get a refund. I have given them more than enough chances one this and am done. I love the looks of the gun, but I don't feel like they are ready to make a revolver. For the price they are charging, I expected the quality and finish to be on par with their other products and competing products from S&W. My advice to anybody looking at picking up one of these is to pay real close attention to where the barrel meets the frame near the caliber stamp and ejector rod. If you can get it in bright light or use a flashlight. Its worth noting that my original serial number was a couple hundred after the one in the vid, and the 4th one is roughly a thousand after that. I know there will be some that will say I am being nit picky, but we are talking about a gun that for me was mid $800 after taxes.

I would agreem it's not a clone lke Uberti does, and I have one love it. But, it's just different like S&W is to Colt or Rugers to Colt. I think they did a great job, and the ejection method is supperior to the Colt rod and tube single ejection. And double actions proved superior to Colts single action design and became instantly popular back in the day.

Oh, and extra front sights that come with it so you can adjust for different ammo. Colt never did that! Hickok is great, Really, but could be a little more open minded toward Henry. Look at them as individual firearms because they aren't even trying to be clone manufacturers. They are unique with old west styling but improved design, like tye Big Boys, their bolts are similisr to the Markin style but ALLOT stronger than the Real Henry/Winchester 1873 (1860 & 66) design.

I had to explain to some competitors once how I got all six bullets in the X ring during a match . They had no understanding of the six O'clock hold with a 25 yard bulls eye target . I was using two revolvers, S&W M14 and pre model K22 . They couldn't grasp that the rear sight bracketed the black circle of the target with the front sight adjusted to touch the bottom and puts the bullet (theoretically) in the X ring.

Thx for the review! You are right in that it is something different. Like it or not H45, it seemed you could hit just fine with it. Cool revolver!

Looks to me like a good kit gun for campers. Reasonably priced. Reliable.

$1000 isn't reasonably priced. You can find similar revolvers for half the price.

I like that' Henry hummp' in distance and drop ratios the .44 mag acculy equal to 357 , but has more kenidic energy in the .44 velosity usely' same depending on ammo.

Hey Hickok45, I now exactly what a "6 o'clock hold" is! Former military, former gun owner and current watch collector! BTW, 6 o'clock is my favorite location for a date window on my watches.

I had the birdshead grip. It was a pretty revolver. It was comfortable shooting magnum loads. But, I traded it towards a S&W model 28 357mag.🤷‍♂️😒

I think the real test of a good revolver is how smooth the DA is, any cheap revolver can be shot well in SA
