Shoutout to S.P Score Videos > kzbin.info and Le Sheet Music Boi, alias "Tage" > kzbin.info/door/GN3RVAodiogEyT4PSwIavg without their help, I would not have the knowledge to edit my score-videos at a rate of 2000x faster than I could do so manually, so expect more quantity, at no expense to quality.

Purcell's harmony is perfect. Every voice is exquisite. The only other composer who could consistently pull that off was Bach.

Ouverture à la Française is grandiose. Veiled in a dusky obscure tragic colorite.

Beautiful. The Ouverture is similar in style (and key!) to Handel's Concerto Op. 6 no. 10. Would not be surprised to learn Handel took some ideas from Purcell!

Corelli was a good teacher for Purcell. And Purcell was the same for Handel.

Greatest English music EVER. My dearest genial Georgy is not counted, as he was German. So, there is no rivalry.

Someone rewrote that overture in the French style.

Interesting, are you saying that Purcell himself had notated it literally? I know they would double the dotting compared to how it's written, which is what's done in the recording as compared to how this score shows it.
