I understand Americans live in their own bubble and event their own sports that only they care about and then declare a national competition a world series.They structure these sports to accomodate advertising and the yanks low attention span. Who’s role in this world is for the betterment of the human race ? The actor ? The football player ? The never smiling pretend singer ? Or the military ? Or the doctors ? Nurses ? Human rights lawyers ? Aid workers ? Child welfare advocates? Councillors ? The guys that develop prosthetics for the kids who step on land mines ? The staff of the surgery ship that visits African shores every year and performs life saving operations for free and all the staff are volunteers. They give up months of an under paid job to work for free. Who is worth more ? It’s really not the individual he is addressing it’s what they represent and that’s not their fault good luck to them if that talent pays them a ridiculous amount it’s the fact that society has put such a huge worth on things that entertain us and such minimal worth on things that keep us alive and safe. ....... just saying...
