And here we see Henry getting a major life lesson, that his heroes are capable of villainous things and his villains are often times themselves victims. The line between them is not nearly so black and white as a fairy tale would ever tell.

Yeah I would have liked Henry calling them out on their shitty deeds instead of following them around. It would have been great if he also reminded them that Rumple is still his grandpa and asked them to help him with Belle and Gideon instead of going against him for no reason. Plus it actually would've made the horrible seasons more watchable if their misdeeds were named as such and that we even had lots of episodes of the Heroes realizing their mistakes and struggljng to make it up for them.

I'm not saying people shouldn't listen to Henry or validate his feelings, but this show treats him like Yoda. He's not all-knowing, and every now and then it would be great if the parental figures in his life actually behaved like parents and didn't justify their every action or bargain for his approval. Sometimes kids just need to accept that adults know better; they're certainly more capable of making tough decisions. Henry's delusion that he has this innate understanding of the right thing to do is extremely cloying, but what's worse is that the adults believe it as well. I've never seen a child character act like, or be treated like, less of a child. I hope now the actor's growing up the writers let Henry go through a pubescent little shit phase, because at least it would be realistic; I think I'd like him more for it.

@SongMeanings18187 жыл бұрын
I hate this episode. Snow was entirely justified to kill Cora. This show gives the idea that it's *never* ok to kill anyone. It's always wrong. I hate that about this show. Like there are good parts of it but that message is just horrible. By the logic of this show all soldiers in the military are villains and not heroes. That is just disgraceful I'm sorry but honestly it's disgusting. Sometimes a hero has to kill a minority of villains to save the innocent majority. That is a heroic action not a villains one. Had Snow not killed Cora, Cora would've killed Emma, Charming *and* Snow. Therefore Snow was justified to kill Cora because 1. it was self defense 2. more people would've died if Cora wasn't killed 3. the majority who would've died if Snow didn't kill Cora were innocent people where as Cora is *not* an innocent person. And the fact that Snow's heart darkens as a result of killing Cora which is a good deed is basically the writers saying "morality is objective: killing is always wrong is a fundamental rule, it applies to each and every situation".
@diggersam88657 жыл бұрын
I agree with you SongMeanings, I think it was crap that the show make killing Cora a dark deed despite she was mad dog it needed to be put down, though having Snow tricking Regina into killing Cora was in my opinion very cowardly, though I dont agree with the shows morality objective that killing wrong no matter what the circumstance, because lets say the heroes encounter a villain worse than Cora or Rumple, like Sauron, Jadis the White Witch, or the Horned King and they decide to spare that villain. Remember what Zemo did to the Avengers in Captain America Civil War, or what the Joker did to Superman in the Injustice game? The writers forget that Cora would have killed everyone if Snow hadn't done something and honestly Cora was evil with and without a heart. I think Cora got off way too easy in season five.
@SongMeanings18187 жыл бұрын
Samantha Burkediggersam88 Thank you! I know a few oncers who agree with me, but there's many that think Snow should've spared Cora. I personally interpret that as them saying Emma, Snow and Charming should have died instead of Cora as that is what would've happened if Cora lived.
@diggersam88657 жыл бұрын
SongMeanings thanks and also my point is that supposedly they spare Cora and give her heart back without killing her. How do we know she would have found a way to get the heroes to kill each other? Cause Cora was evil before she took her heart out.
@maaska.84326 жыл бұрын
Actually, spoiler alert if you didn't see it, but Emma killed Cruella to save Henry in season 4, and even though Cruella was defenseless and couldn't hurt anyone, nobody blame Emma. That's not the only case, I think, but obviously, the show isn't against "killing for good reasons". Here, it's not about Snow killing Cora, it's about what it means. Like Snow White is supposed to be a hero who never hurt and always do good, they want to show that even Snow isn't "perfect". The fact that she's in that state, like depressed, is because she had that image of her too and couldn't believe she would actually be able to kill someday. And actually, except Regina and Henry who is still "immature", nobody blame her.
@emilish6246 жыл бұрын
also the fact that snow said earlier she would "kill Cora" when she found out Cora was the reason her mother died. At that moment Snow basically became "regina" embracing her dark side of wanting revenge. she had no problem doing it. it was only after did she feel regret for killing Cora that way: aka tricking Regina to do it for her. cause she wasnt brave enough to do it herself.
@Drace9011 жыл бұрын
Henry doesn't need to do anything, but to get raised properly. And sadly he hadn't very much luck with that, but that's not his fault. He is a child and goes through a very hard time. He may got the family he always dreamed about, but now he experiences that they are lying to him and killing people, just as Regina did. I'd be mad about that, too, and with "Adult business, kid! Get over it!" you wouldn't help him at all.

In the first season, he couldn't say enough how much Regina wasn't his mother and how she was evil , needed to be stopped, and made his life miserable.
