His fight with Eddie was monumental. He was relaxed, fluid, anticipated the shots, stuffed the take downs. Now he has the antzy fear we all have when we get into that bar fight. Strong hits, energy depletion. Conor needs to draw back into the old warrior, relax and determined whatever the outcome. 👍

You’re all lost. Conor’s mistake was hearing Holloway say “I’m the best boxer in the ufc” when he fought Kattar. Conor wanted to go out and beat DP with JUST boxing - bc he had beaten DP and Max so badly, he assumed he could go out and do it again with just hands. All to say post fight that HE was the best boxer in the ufc. He was wrong. Conor’s hands are most effective when his kicks are involved.

One of Henry's last comments was the cherry on top, "you've actually become more emotional now", as a big Conor fan, it's so true. When Conor fought he used to be stoic and it showed in his demeanour when he entered the cage, there was no emotion, just pure un-matched focus. He fights now like he's trying too hard to prove to everyone else that he's still that guy instead of going in there and just doing his thing, that pressure on your shoulders will literally make you stiff and slow. He needs to free his mind, set clear goals again and get back in the game, or out, there's no inbetween.

The old Conor won by doing what he needed to win, not by rushing for a knockout. He'd look to cause damage from *every* method; kicks, knees, elbows, and punches. Current Conor just plods forwards and over-commits with every punch and wildly misses by chasing a KO.

I hear ya, when I heard Mick Conlan say to him, “I don’t why he’d want to go in there” take the risks that combat sports forces you to take after grabbing two belts, making a couple hundred million off the Floyd match and Conor expressed similar feelings, having a family and being wealthy enough to pack it in and try to enjoy life but with more money more problems. I mean not many guys that rose that fast , accumulate that much money would go back and attempt to fight. Very few people in the entire world knows the inner battles that guy go’s through. People just don’t remember man, how it was back then, coming up with a 15 fight win streak, 14 finishes. “THE” 2 division champion, not “a”, he was “THE” one and only ever double champ. The first to ever do it. In the 2 most competitive divisions in the entire industry and was the int-champ at the same time. He out slugged Chad, starched Dustin, sniped Aldo in 13 seconds who at that time was the P4P king and the greatest 145er ever. He bested Max who went on to make his own case for greatest 145er. When he beat Eddie, it was like magical. And I’m serieus, like it was weird. Like you could feel it in the air. It felt like history in the making. You cant explain it. Did didn’t just feel unbeatable. He felt, untouchable, unreachable, almost supernatural, it was awe inspiring beyond belief. He couldn’t miss a shot, he could get hit, he just could not lose, like it was destiny set in stone. It was bizarre. Alvarez became a champion in every organization he ever touched, he was a legend, keep that in mind. And he changed the game, forever. Became the most “successful” MMA fighter ever, he beat many legends and all time greats and looked spectacular doing so. What he did for the sport… people are gonna reap the benefits of his legacy for generations. And they will never thank him for that, but it’s true. You have to respect that.

It's one thing to be a fan but real fans know their team and really all McGregor fans know that he needs to fix those three Ts. I find it absolutely ludicrous that's he's in a mental space where 170 is the goal for him, as if he could forfeit any more physical advantages he had over his previous 145/155 competitors and make a more difficult fight for himself. I hope a win against chandler can really ignite the fire that made Conor "confident in preparation and humble in victory or defeat".

Triple C? You should use that Irish Plug as a tune up fight for your first fight back to MMA. Because Conor McNuggets is Done! He is not and will not ever be the same fighter he used to be because his chin is gone along with his confidence and lag! And that's why he just talks shit on social media and beats up on women these days because Conor knows his best days is behind him and when he comes back to the octagon he is just going to stack up more- L'$...

@Hans Gruber its not just about landing a shot though, its about the ability to evade them and to be able to absorb them. Conor has been up to WW before and his striking was not as effective even though he was landing. Granted he is bigger now but how has that effected his cardio since his cardio wasn’t the best at LW? He also does not make the best decisions for his skillset! Example he landed a knee on Khabib which put Khabib out for a few seconds. Not unconscious but out of his game. (See Forrest Griffins breakdown), what did Conor do? He decided to go and wrestle Khabib. Then Khabib crushed him from that point! As sad as it is just like Tony i think Conor will never be elite as he once once. He has the skills he just dosent have the focus or fighter in him that a working class person does that he once was.

I always believed his downfall was caused by his stance changing after Mayweather. He went from a disciplined wide Karate stance to what can only be described as a wide boxing stance. That took away his greatest strength - distance control and, with that, his anticipation. It also made him extend unnaturally, thus tiring out his lead leg and taking too many short punches/leg kicks he really didn't have to. I would love to see him fight again just to see if his team made changes to it or not and I'll know if he's losing or winning within the first 10sec based on that. That being said, I hope he comes back with a vengance because UFC is much more entertaining when Connor's winning.

@leont4944 Жыл бұрын
@@whiteflame24 You're 100% right in saying the game has changed with these calf kicks. You might also be right in saying his old stance wouldn't work. I just believe he could check them easier than in his new stance and he could occasionally avoid them by lifting his leg up. Especially if he's relaxed and fluid as he used to be, not stuck to the ground. Either way, I'd love to see him go back to that stance and test it out because it would open up all of his strengths again.
