When I was 7 (mid 90s), I wanted to ride my dad's favorite ride and my first roller coaster ever: The Rattler at Fiesta Texas. The original, not the newer, smoother, safer hybrid. The original car was a single bench and lap bar for both riders. Well on the first drop, I slid down into the floor of the car and the restraint was just barely across my forehead. My dad pulled me back into the seat and wrapped his arm around me for the rest of the ride. I was so proud and happy to have that moment and memory with my dad. Only when I was older did I hear of the severity of the situation and how I almost died that day.

Those sligshot rides are no joke. I went on the tallest one in Orlando, i was excited and obviously nervous. But i also completely passed out as well. You can see in the second to last video when the girl is passed out, her right arm goes slightly into the harness. If it completely was hanging out her body could have easily been thrown out of it. They need a better safety protector.
