Such a wonderful reminder from Eesh that you can bike travel on any setup, you don't need the latest, greatest, and lightest gear. I'd take her positive attitude and open mind any day over cutting-edge ultralight/compact gear.
@crafty_matt5 ай бұрын
While that is true, in this particular case I suspect Alee was carrying 75% of the gear. Eesh could have carried more, but that would have required a better rack/bags, or to suffer wearing a big backpack. Overall, however, I agree that you can use almost any bike and definitely don't need the fancy stuff.

I just wanted to say that this video really inspired me to start bikepacking, and the line ”most people don’t even make it to the start line, they just talk about it their whole lives” really, really inspired me and pushed me to so my first big trip (600km) this summer, which was amazing!! That line really pushed me to decide to do this journey, even though I had almost No camping experience and even though I’m a reaaally comfortable person. Thank you for this video and for the inspiration 💞

Probably your best video. Eesh makes all the difference, with her fantastic personality that shines through for sure, but also because of how this allows you to share so much more of your incredible experience. You’ve made the very most of that opportunity by great shooting, great editing and (according to me) your best/most appropriate soundtrack. It “tones” your film with just the right amount of cheekiness and romanticism to make this video a joy to watch and definitely make us want more... (no problem to wait so long when the outcomes are that good). Congratulations to both of you. We don’t know how things will play out for you two but now at least you know what the fans would love to see happen ;-)

I wander why you talk about learning Eesh all kind of cycling skills. In 2016 I went on a bicycle tour of 3000 km, without any skills at all, accept my experience as a teenager when I cycled to school on my grandmothers antique bicycle. I left my journey without any kind of training and I want to say to everyone who wants to cycle, it is not that hard to cycle, it is just one mile after the other, as long as you give your body time to recover. Don't take medication for the pain in your but, give yourself time tot recover. I live in a very flat country without any mountains. When I cycled for 4 weeks I was perfectly able to cross the Pyrenees. When I left I could only cycle 15 km a day, after 6 weeks I could ride 90 km a day with a lot of climbing in the mountains. You can learn yourself! Go out and explore! One other thing I would like to say, I did my tour while my weight was extremely high, over 100 kilo, so please don't think that you can only make a long ride when you have a beautiful and healthy looking body like Eash, I'm not a sports woman at all, and I could do it. So to any one who dreams about a big bicycle tour, just do it. Anyway, have a beautiful trip Eash, you can do this, enjoy!.

I appreciate your motivation for others but learning good technique when you're a beginner allows you to progress faster and enjoy your experience more. I believe that it's best to just kind of jump into a bike trip extempore, so you won't have enough time to get paralysed with all the different options and choices. And biketraveling is quite addicting, I feel like it allows to tune back into the most basic stuff and make you think about the necessities for survival instead of which streaming services give you the best programs etc. And it truly is empowering method for traveling. Distances on map start to feel so small when you know you can cover that distance in half a day. And these are just my personal observations from touring and packing in my own home country. Can't even imagine how it is emphasised more when abroad and in a totally different culture. 😁

@@positiivi_teme I really hope so! Lots of friends and family (non-cyclists) have now watched this film and said they're *almost* inspired to try bike travel. 😂

@@Cyclingabout Need to move beyond Patreon/Paypal donations This video could get you sponsorship from Giant, or other bike mfrs (racks, tires, panniers, accessories, cellphone mfr, etc). The human-interest story (story telling), excellent visuals (Panasonic G9, DJI Mavic Air, cellphone), tutorial (Art of Biking) has VALUE. Bike mfrs will be "banging on your door", since you are basically an arm of their Marketing ("People don't buy good products, they buy GOOD MARKETING") See YT channel "Bleepin Jeep" kzbin.info, Matt took his passion of Jeep building/offroading into successful business. He has 344k subscribers (you have 27K), has sponsorship from WD-40 (widely used in automotive & bikes), Rough Country (lift kits, accessories, etc). He built a team of contributors (Oregon, Utah, etc) for how-to build videos, offroad trips, etc. You are on the same path, this video demonstrates bang/buck for touring. You're a genius in exposition/presentation (story telling, visuals) -- guiding a novice (Eesh) to do a 2000km bike trip.."Happiness is a Way of Travel" "The Journey IS the Reward" -- Taoist saying "The Journey is better than the End" -- Cervantes

Woa amazing video !!! I am mexican, I live here and know how dangerous it is. True respect, don't know how foreigners have the courage to cross countries like México by bike. Anyway Mexico indeed is such a lovely place if you take out all the bad, and in general we are very kind with all foreign and tourist people.

Such a very cool documentary of the bike expedition across Mexico- Two absolute stars- authentic- adventurous and warm people. Big ups to both of you from rural Taranaki - Aotearoa- New Zealand- near a similar volcano to those in your awesome movie. Inspiring me after a long recovery about to restart our biking experiences in our South Island - Te Wai Pounamu- The greenstone waters.

A lot of it reminded me of this group called Lord Huron. Check them out if you haven't heard of them.

That was the only part of the video I didn't like at all, it's just a triple J shuffle list of hipster innuendo.
