We purchased a beach house during Covid and I decorated our house with a bunch of beach & surfing prints. They didn’t even say anything on them. I would offer prints like that and also offer a customization option to say what city name they want. Like my house is in Oceanside, for example. pura vida is spanish language phrase - you can apply it to other Spanish speaking countries or even the feeling to any location with beaches in the tropics

You could, but the phrase itself isn't exactly a common phrase outside of Costa Rica and is explicitly associated with Costa Rica. Kind of like how Guey would be understood by Spanish speakers but isn't used commonly outside of Mexico

This is cool. A really tiny niche. My first Etsy shop was (& still is) vintage and destash supplies. My handmade did not fit in at all, so, voila, second shop. And 10x the work, lol. What I have found is that there is a demand for what I make HOWEVER... Buyers want 'luxury' at sweatshop made prices. I'm not a sweatshop. I craft each piece. I do custom work for the big & tall (usual size being 5.5", mine can be 12", which is not double the yarn or work, but 5 times the little ones!). Feeling like I need to double the prices on several of my more extensive items just to give them "worth". Trying to keep $ low for the buyers and still make a profit, but it's not working. If I kept track of all the time spent tweaking listings, etc., I'm making a dollar an hour, maybe.

That was a great shop audit! I found Scott’s comment very helpful that you might not get shown as much when you have low inventory, i will keep an eye on that! BTW, Bali is a hot destination that she could also add to her shop. A lot of digital nomads, vegans, yoga lovers etc. love the Bali vibes!

When we travel we want to remember the memories that we create . Store is on point for this. I would look at what the shops in costa rica have and then create around them also what are the destinations or things you can do in costa rica and create around these thinking of the memories someone would want to remember. What phrases can you bring home with you are there any things such as greetings the natives give each other. or simply phrases that are commonly used. There is so much she can do here. What a great shop. all the best you so got this.

Would you recommend adding new niches to your Etsy shop to reach more people? For example my shop includes T-Shirt designs of animals drawn in my own unique style but should I add beach/boho/cottagecore/gothic etc elements/scenes to appeal to those niches too? So drawing animals at the beach so the title would be like "Beach T-Shirt, Elephant Lover Tee etc". To get the beach niche kind of people into my shop, instead of just relying on people who are searching for a specific Elephant T-Shirt or would that make my shop look cluttered with flowers on some designs then robotic elements on others etc? Hope that all makes sense, I'd really love to hear your thoughts on this!

Isn’t Pura Vida trademarked? Maybe not but as soon as I heard the name of her business I instantly thought of the big company that’s been very popular- mainly their bracelets. Just be careful. Great shop 😍and would hate to see it shut down.

When you say 2 dollars are you tell us to put that two dollars as a whole or per product? cause I did the $2-5 and realized I was losing money because I wasn’t getting to enough views now I have a $10 budget toward one listing (I matched the price of item) and that works better. Thousands of views daily now getting at least 1-2 sales a day

2 Dollars would be the starting place for everything, if you realize that's not enough for you...you can always raise it :) $10 per item is WAY more than you would need in most niches.

@@brandcreators but this is where it gets confusing because I sell unframed prints. I sell a lot and they are made to order. So any frame mock ups are for display only, the buyer does not get a frame. I can’t see how I can do it any other way because I’ve checked other sellers and they too use frame mock ups for unframed prints but I’m scared Etsy will close me down, would you have any more advice for me?

No, it means pure life.🤣 It's used as a way of saying "really well" or "enjoying life". I think you're confusing "living a pure life" which would be vida Pura (or la vida Pura) with Pura Vida which is used to mean...."nothing but life" which is how it's used in Costa rica

You seem to be looking a little to "literally". For example, when I mention "living a pure life" that would be the implication of vida pura (yes, the LITERAL translation would be "viviendo" if you're looking at living, but that's not what we are discussing). Pura + Something in Spanish is typically used to mean "nothing but" For Example "Pura Vida" would be used to say only/nothing but life. Pura Carne (nothing but meat). pura pendejada (nothing but BS). The direct translation is still Pure or purely (Purely Meat or Purely BS). The translation would still be "pure life" or "purely life" but not in the Saintly way....in the "Nothing but life" way.
