Thank you! I’m in the US and accidentally read too much news at once, which can amplify my anxiety. I was starting to panic and then I heard someone talking about gardening, which started to calm me. Then I sought out “gardening” videos on KZbin and found this. I’m now calm again and so grateful. Also this video was wonderfully informative on the topic, and I really appreciate the captioning as well. I’m autistic and captioning helps (even if there are spoken words-it helps to have the visual as well, regardless of hearing ability [it’s a processing issue]).

“The only thing you should spend good money on is soil”. Thanks for the most precious advice though I learned it the hard way. Spending 6 months to grow out a few tomato trees from seeds made me extremely happy. However, I wasn’t able to harvest their fruits due to the diseases. The tree rotted day by day with their green fruits on :(

Squirt of dish soap. Boil with lid till soft avoid getting steam in face. Let cool strain through an old hin dish towel panty hose or a piece of thin t shirt inside a commander. If anyone is reading this this is really really good advice ...don’t take it for granted because a lot of these things I had to learn the hard way start off by figuring out what zone you live in and how much sun you get because a lot of my plants did not “thrive” by my non-south facing balcony!

You are absolute right! Don't waste money on plants that are not going to thrive under the conditions at hand. My balcony gets over 50 C in the summer, you can't water enough, so I switched all the decorative plants to succulents, crassulacae, grasses and such. They flower like crazy, I'm happy, bees are happy, and I can grow some veggies in the few shaded spots. 🙂
