All great stories, while remaining respectful of all. Had no idea how interesting, influential, brimming with integrity, and well-spoken Herb was. An absolute Gentleman- on top of all that unbelievable talent, with a trumpet in his hands.

Herb, these old videos are great. Your music is timeless. Rise was the penultimate song to close out the disco era. Like icing on the cake or the finale of the 1812 overture. Although I wasnt into disco at the time at all, but i remember it on the radio and loved it. Now I love disco music. But i grew up listening to country music.

10 year old me was obsessed with the music of the Beatles & Herb Alpert. When my older self realized that Herb had started his own label, I bought many "unknown to me" artists just because they were on the label...and most were great! Thanks for posting this interview...as many of my age, any talk of Karen Carpenter brings a tinge of sadness, but hearing Herb relate how good she looked & seemed the last time he saw her....well, if possible it made her death even sadder.

Bob was a great interviewer ! I miss his show ! And of course the wonderfully talented Mr Alpert is a true icon. A real class act. My mom had a handful of his TJB albums back in the 60s & I have so many wonderful memories of listening with my family. THANK YOU, Mr. Alpert ! And you're still going strong at 88 ! Bless your heart ! And best wishes to your lovely & talented wife Lani too ! 👍😎❤🎺

I love the rhino records remasters. They did a great job with them. I had almost all of them in my vehicle when they broke into it and stole them. I was mad as h*** they took my TJB albums! 😂
