I usually use smaller cuts of lamb and came here looking for a method to cook shoulder chop, but I was impressed with the herb butter application. It worked well!!! Some (hopefully constructive) feedback I have: a) perhaps due to using convection when I shouldn't have, 30mins at 425 was far too long, the final product was easily 30F above where I'd want, but how do you anticipate size of the meat and individual ovens (perhaps this is more of a warning for others than something you need to correct). b) I think it might be a little more optimal to leave the other side unbuttered until the flip, and maybe toss some on quickly. I found the butter melted off of the bottom side. Maybe that's what you did and it wasn't clear, or I was ignorant. Over all, thank you for this. Excellent content. I'm gonna be herb buttering every cut of lamb I eat. Subbed.

Thanks for this recipe man. All of these other recipes I looked up took forever and weren't covered in anything but salt and pepper. I was like, really? Put some damn flavor on it! I also love that this video is fast, and straight to the point. I'm gonna bookmark this and check out your channel! EDIT: I subbed! Also for anyone reading, PLEASE do yourself a favor and use paper when putting on the butter. I flipped mine and butter was everywhere. I had to reapply.

I just did this recipe last night on my cast iron and it was great. I like spicy stuff, but thought my cayenne/chili pepper flakes in your recipe was very questionable and wouldn't be a good fit for what I like about lamb, but I was wrong. It was a great match and that extra kick was delicious. Also, the Westbrook clip made me lol. I'm going to try baking this next week.

This looks delicious, and was also one of the only recipes I could find online for shoulder chops that doesn't absolutely require searing or browning first in a skillet (trying to avoid because it smokes up too much and sets of the smoke alarm in my small condo!). One question I have is related to seasoning: a. can I use margarine or oil instead of butter (lactose intolerant here...)? b. Could I marinate first instead of seasoning right before adding the garlic butter/marg/oil? Thank you! (btw, anyone that knows how to "shmear" some butter, knows their stuff! LOL)
@2DopeKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Haha I definitely do it this way for that exact reason. My space is on the smaller side and I hate smoking myself out everytime I cook red meat smh. Also yes yes I encourage you to season ahead of time and using margarine is just fine. Just go for a brand that's a decent butter flavor
@SinisterDuckling2 жыл бұрын
@@2DopeKitchen Thanks! I've made this a few times now. Always absolutely fantastic and much less smokey than on the stove top, so I'm able to manage the smoke alarm going off in the apartment, LOL. Always tender and so flavourful. My go-to recipe for lamb shoulder chop!!
