Marinate lamb, we should keep it in fridge or freezer?
@ChefAliCookingShow9 ай бұрын
I normally keep meat I marinate in the fridge for an hour or overnight before cooking it. If you’re not cooking it for days then the freezer is the best option.

Nice video simply and straight forward. I was laughing because I was at jewel today buying some steaks, my butcher went out of business. Anyway they had some lamb chops and I'll tell you your lamb chops are giant compared to there's, lol. They were the size of a matchbook and thin, they looked like mini t-steaks, but cute, lol. Thanks for this - can I ask why do you wash them in water and vinegar? - doesn't this take away some of the flavour?
@ChefAliCookingShow2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome! Thank you for asking, it’s a Jamaican custom to rinse meat before seasoning it. It’s done around the Caribbean as well. Also, It doesn’t take away from any of the flavors from the meats that I’ve seasoned and cooked over the years since I’ve learned this custom from my mom and grandma🙂

I’ve never made lamb before but will be making it Sunday for dinner. How long does it take to cook until tender? I have those exact same size lamb lions.
@ChefAliCookingShow3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kenya! Thank you so much for your support and questions! I grew up eating lamb curried like you see in my curry mutton video. Overtime, I learned about pan-seared lamb chops and how delicious it was when paired with garlic, herbs, and butter. The cooking duration wasn't very long because of the size and how thin my lamb chops were. It also depends on how you like your meat cooked, medium, medium well, or well done. This will determine how long it takes; otherwise, it should be quick and easy🙂👍
@jasminemartin59252 жыл бұрын
I have never had a lamb chop. I'm a little picky about textures and certain tastes and as a college student wasting money on lamb is unrealistic especially since I don't know if ill like it. With that being g said what is the flavor profile is it more of a steak or more of a pork texture?
@ChefAliCookingShow2 жыл бұрын
I totally understand, I was like that at one point, it’s definitely more on the steak side when it comes to texture and the taste is a little gamey. However, if you prepare it with fresh garlic, rosemary, thyme, and properly season it. It can be magnificent in my opinion, if you have seen my video and how I prepare it, I know for someone who was skeptical like myself, I think you will enjoy it; especially, paired with the right sides to compliment it. If you do give it a shot and let me know what you think okay🙂👍🏾
@havanero2042 Жыл бұрын
This looks delicious and will taste just plain awesome but cut out the butter. No need due to the fact that Lamb is full of fat which is where the flavor of the lamb will stands out..Over all this recipe is kick A##.
@ChefAliCookingShow Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your feedback and suggestions! I use the butter because it blends well with the fresh herbs and garlic which I use to coat the lamb chops for extra flavor, it’s more complementary🙂
