I just made a cup of Tea and i'm letting it steep for 20+ mins with the lid on to hold in all the volatile oils in and let the medicinal qualities be extracted! Thanks for the awesome advice! 🍵

Thank you so much for this! I did not realize that I was not steeping my herbs long enough. I was of the "tea" mind set and thought that 10 to 15 minutes was enough. I am learning a lot from your videos and I really appreciate all the effort that you put into making them!

Thank you. I boil about 10 dried sour sop leaves for 10 mins to release the goodness in them. My refreshment for the day. I just wasted some butterfly pea tea, I made a big batch. Cannot finish so I threw it away. Did not realise that it would keep for a few days. Now I know, thanks again.

I’m still new at all of this but I have a small herb garden with mints and lemon balm and my husband has been have facial spasms and I remembered reading that peppermint and lemon balm was an antispasmodic so I brewed him up a tea real quick and it was so much better in a matter of 30 mins prob. Blew my mind. I just sweetened with honey he actually loved it. 😊 I appreciate your channel and others that have helped me learn! You guys are amazing

I just found your channel, liked and subscribed. I have been drinking powdered moringa leaf tea for the past six months and find it gives me a lot of energy - not a rush, like coffee does, but more like a lack of fatigue that lasts almost all day, if you know what I mean. I also drink black tea throughout the day because I enjoy it more than drinking coffee. I am just getting started in wanting to expand on this and, seriously, this 12 minute video has given me a lot of information and tips. I will watch the other videos you have after this one. I have some questions, but I will hold off until I watch your other videos, which might answer most or all of them. Thanks for the video! Well done!!

You can try a sweet potato tops into a tea. Bring water to boil add the fresh sweet potato purple leaves and cook it for 2-3 minutes. You may add lemon juice and honey to enhance the flavor. Drink it hot or cold tea.

Check out chaga tea. I use chaga tea occasionally but use tinctures of it and reishi quite often. Chaga has many health benefits and as a tea pleasant flavor. I forage for my own as anyone with reasonable health can do. For chaga and native reishi you do need to be in the north.

@@herbalistkristen If you're ever in northern NY message me. Reishi is just starting. I'm going out scouting today. I gps any notable finds and hope to find some ginseng and edible mushrooms. We do chaga hikes in the winter but if the pack is empty I'm apt to bring one or two conks out with me.

Would it be okay to use a ratio of 1 tbsp of herbs per 1 cup of water instead of drinking 2-4 cups a day with less herbs?

Totally! if you want to do 1 cup of tea at a time go for it and feel free to adjust the measurements to make it the most efficient and accessible for you. Herbs don't work if you don't take them so "make them how you'll take them"

If you leave the infusion overnight it can become too strong, so you water it down when you add it to a drink the next day. Doesn't that also make it less potent or did I miss something?

Hello, I’ve been getting into medicinal herbs and implementing them and I was wondering if you could give me some advice. My grandmother has lupus and that and her arthritis really cause her to ache and hurt and her energy isn’t very great and I have been trying to figure out the best way to make her a tea to supplement her general wellness but I’m having a hard time with what kind of herbs to use and the best way to make the tea. Any advice that could help I’d appreciate it.

After the tea steeps for an hour it’s no longer hot so do you heat it or drink room temp?

Black Gunpowder tea, I've been steeping 60 minutes or longer when i forget aboit it, lol, is that ok to do?
@herbalistkristen
@herbalistkristen Жыл бұрын
it is totally fine! It will absolutely pull out a ton of the chemical constituents as well as the bitter and astringent properties. It is not dangerous at all! Tea is usually brewed shorter and for pleasure so brewing it that long will make it a little bit unpleasant but if you enjoy it thats all that matters!
