Oh, Reanimator. How I've always loved you. I read you in my paperback copy of Necronomicon, I've watched your movie starring Jeffery Combs, and I've listened to you narrated by a wide array of voice actors. I may never grow tired of you.

Wonderful work by Otis! It's so weird to hear someone else read the story I just did! Love Otis' intro.

My own personal theory is that Herbert West learned the secret of reanimation from reading the forbidden Necronomicon as a student in Miskatonic University.

Bizarre coincidence,I just found the "snag films"channel on youtube and on it they have "Lovecraft:fear of the unknown"where guillero del toro,john carpenter,etc...talk about how the great H.P's works contributed to horror! Go watch it before it's gets taken down or something!

Hey otis is there anyway you could narrate rivers west by louis L'Amour? Would there be a licensing issue ? And whats a good way to help raise money for you for that?

I found this quote a bit fascinating and perplexing. “Age has more charity for these incomplete yet high-souled characters, whose worst real vice is timidity, and who are ultimately punished by general ridicule for their intellectual sins- sins like Ptolemaism, Calvinism, anti-Darwinism,anti-Nietzstheism, and every sort of Sabbatarianism, and sumptuary legislation”. Was wondering if anyone knew what HP Lovecraft meant by this quote?

I love how Lovecraft writes, but I feel like he's too hard on brown folks 😹

Garret Grant i mean you could blame the time period but I feel that is much to lenient on his materialist philosophy which persists into the 21st century.
@miskathonic4 жыл бұрын
@Garret Grant Lovecraft was more racist and xenophobic than could be attributed to his era. Appreciate his work all you want, (and I certainly do!), but don't try to minimize or justify his terrible prejudices. He was an unquestionably a bigot.

Otis Jiry did great job on this one :D H.P. Lovecraft has great stories but I am very sad that he was such a racist. . . But even so he wrote some awesome stories that came out of his fear of everything. . .

I think it's for the best that the cringingly racist descriptions of the boxers was included. Every Lovecraft fan should appreciate his works, yet have a full understanding of just how appallingly racist he was. Just my two bitcoins.
