I legit clicked on this strictly because I thought "there is no way he, of all people, will make it through without continual refrences to the name." I am shocked, shocked I tell you, at the keeping of it clean and mature. Also pretty impressed.

Thanks. I always enjoy watching Mr Erpaderp's work and it's great to see him build something I've reviewed as well. It's always interesting and instructive to get a different perspective. I hope we can do more collaborations in the future.

I used your video as an instruction to build two of them. One suggestion: Add the driving case before the front plate and do it from above. So it is much easier. I like the result. But the kit itself has some annoying fit issues. So it was not just fun to me to build this kit. But I really like the completed models.

Looks like the "late Sexton" variant in this kit is a Sexton made from a Grizzly, those were essentially just Shermans with smaller track links, those tracks were designed to be cheaper. The "early" one is using a normal Sherman, although that's not actually right for an early Sexton, an early Sexton would have had Ram style return rollers, the one in this kit that's called early is a mid production. Edit: so apparently early Sextons are called Sexton Mark 1s, and this kit only builds the Mark 2 variants which encompass the mid and late production, so I guess that's why they use that naming.

As far as I can tell, the "late" track is the Canadian dry-pin type track. This would make sense as the later Sextons were built on the Grizzly chassis - a licence produced Canadian version of the Sherman M4A1.

There are people who use these Sextons in FOW like assault guns, thanks to the direct fire Firepower 3+. Not nearly as cool as the Priest, but hey. They are also capable of firing a good bombardment, of smoke, or of AT 4 vs. Top, which can probably bail a unit of tanks, to be delivered the coup de grace in combination with your own tanks (in V3, in V4 the values have been modified). They can even be used as improvised tank hunters with their direct fire AT 9.

Those deep open crew compartments are a pain to paint...
@HerbertErpaderp5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it will be hard to get a brush in there. I'll probably just spray it and hope the crew hides the lack of detailed internal paint.
@maxxon995 жыл бұрын
@@HerbertErpaderp I generally don't like to paint parts on sprue, but with something like this if you spray it black before assembly, those inaccessible nooks and crannies at least won't be gray...
