Hey im new to conventional reels and my wife just got me a beautiful penn 6/0 and i noticed some reels you tie a knot others you allow the braid to wrap over itself without a knot is one way better than the other im planning on using braid with mono top shot for pier and surf fishing any advice would be much appreciated

this is good line capt..havent had it fail on me once ...i use the no fade colors i've had the red one for 6 months after 6 months its still bright red but you can definetly tell where it does fade slightly but it doesnt bleed like that powerpro did..i also use the green on my gold avet...that's what i was using on lefty that night on the pier aswell at cosway....i'll stand by this line..my biggest is a 48 inch black and a 46 inch red I only changed out the red 100lb to try the 65lb green no fade colors is what i use though this blue and white isnt a no fade color

I have a 6/0 that I managed to get 750 yards of a similar product on. It was 90 pound solid braid instead of 100 pound but maybe people will that info will help people.

@@TeamHardLife I haven’t used the 80 as I spooled it after I put things away for the season. The 65# I have has been preforming well. I mainly jetty and beach fish with it. Doesn’t take that long for it to start loosing color though.
