Ares made Eli a martyr by killing him. Not what he intended. He only made Eli's cause stronger and ensured that it would never die. Played right into his hands. Ares can't give Gabrielle (or anyone else for that matter) the world, it's not his to give.

Crazy to think back when this episode was aired most likely the actor who does the voice for Kratos in God of War was currently in Stargate SG-1. It's crazy because if we had Xena the Warrior Princess in 2021 I'm pretty sure we would have had Kratos guest star on an episode where he has to fight Aries;)

The first 3 episodes of Xena in Hercules, are "The Xena Trilogy" , on season one: 1x09 The Warrior Princess (first Xena appearance) 1x12 The Gauntlet 1x13 Unchained Heart After that, Xena appeared at 3-4 more episodes on Hercules, later.

Eli was the father of Xena's baby. That why Xena told Aries if he killed her he would only make it twice as stronger. And I think Xena knew she was pregnant with Eil's baby. I never did understand or could figure out who the father of Xena's baby was. It was Eli who saved his and Xena's daughter from herself. He showed her ( Eve ) how much her mother really loved her after she was born. It all makes since now.
