Lammie the Sheep 🐑 shines in Part 5 of a day in the life of orphaned elephant Khanyisa 🐘 & her HERD

Lammie the Legend 🐑 was dancing with excitement when she realised Khanyisa had arrived back in her nursery - one of our favourite moments shared between them yet🌟!
In the fifth and final episode of "A day in the life of Khanyisa and the Jabulani Herd", Adine captures the moments as they return to their stables, after a long day our foraging. They passed by the dam for a drink, with the setting sun casting their bodies in beautiful silhouettes and reflections dancing on the water. Little Pisa led the way, followed by Khanyisa's adoptive mother, Lundi with Khanyisa behind her! as they
It's been an eventful day of adventure in the bush, and the herd finally step into the light of golden hour with their trunks held high - as they pick up new scents of interest.
Adine follows Lundi and Khanyisa back to the orphanage after the rest of the herd join the stables. Lundi enjoys a pomelo (similar to a grapefruit) or four from the carers, as a citrussy snack, and leaves her 'daughter' to turn in to the orphanage for the evening.
Herman, her trusted carer was ready and waiting to blanket her up again, to keep her warm in the cold Wintery night. Adine shares some insider views of Khanyisa and Lammie's bedroom, filled with bana grass, branches and love❤️🐑 🐘!
Enjoy some real close-ups of the little pink calf, her healed scars from the snare and her unusual white blue eyes, and then the cutest scene of all! Lammie at her most excited, with extra pep in her hooved step as she comes running to her ellie friend outside, thrilled to have her back home!
Lammie doesn't give up either and goes in for more fun and games, but Sunshine has had a long day and thinks it's no time to play. Instead, Lammie gets sweet head tickles from Herman! The long day ends with a sleeping baby elephant happily sprawled out! What a wonderful way to finish off Adine's five-part series.

Anyone else sad this video series is over? I learned so much. At the end when Khanyisa was sleeping, I could work out which legs they were by the shape of her foot and I was trying to count the number of toes. Also interesting to see that Pomelo (which I had never heard of before) is like a grapefuit because in French grapefruit is pamplemousse while in Italian its pompelmo. This rounds off a typical day and how lovely to see Khanyisa and her loving family of Elephants and Carers return after a day in the bush. Tired but happy! That scene at the end of the walk was just stunning.....it took my breath away. I would love to have a still of this blown up. In fact I have always been inspired by the SA bushland......its pretty much one of the most spectacular scenery on the planet.....the stunning sky/ clouds, the familiar plains with the sparse trees ......and the elephants in shilouhette glad to be home and raising their trunks to sniff the air..... the adults all did it......never noticed it before! I love these videos soooo much! Thank you to all the carers and staff and Adine for her desire to give these ancient beings the help they need in these treacherous times. Omg, 18 thumbs down. What....they didn't love the Joy and freedom these orphans are getting thanks to all these wonderful and committed people who has kept this herd from ending up in some cement zoo surrounded by people pointing and taking pictures. OR, maybe it was the complete lack of fresh clean water, and foods that naturally eat. Or perhaps NO REASONS AT ALL OTHER THEN as always there will be a handful of people that will find something to see a wrong doing! Rather then spend anymore time on that, like you mentioned, You never get tired of seeing these magnificent GIANTS that have fought through so many harsh and heartbreaking times alot just being babies would be Hard Pressed to tire of seeing them everyday . Thank you to the social media team! Y’all have done a wonderful job of spreading the word about HERD and all it’s uniqueness! And there are so many unique things about HERD! HERD is actually the youngest component of what began as Kapama Game Reserve. It’s many components now include the Jabulani herd of unique elephants, the Camp Jabulani with its luxury lodges and I don’t know what else is involved with that aspect, then HESC (Hoedspruitt Endangered Species Center run by Lente Roode, Adine’s mom) and now HERD (Hoedspruitt Elephant Rehabilitation and Development orphanage). I can’t imagine what these 2 wonderful talented women and their offspring will do next. I’m sure I don’t know all that they are involved in even now. Adine always does an incredible job of filming the elephants and carers. I love the informatiion she shares in every video and the subtitles are especially helpful, especially those identifying individual elephants. I now can pick out 7 elephants, maybe more depending on which angle they are filmed from. Thank you to the entire team. Especially the carers. They live with the herd, day and night, when the cameras are on and also when they are off. When it’s so hot they are in danger and when it’s bitterly cold. They are with the elephants in good times and when times are scary and threatening, times we know nothing about. Thank you for loving the elephants and keeping them safe. Thank you to everyone! You have opened my eyes and my heart to not just these beautiful unique elephants but also to Africa. Incredible Africa. Birthplace of humanity.

This may be a stupid question but could you ever pump milk from another mother elephant & give that milk to the babies? Only thought of this because mothers that produce extra milk can send it to bank for other human babies to drink instead of formula. Again sorry I’m sure as vets & care givers that obviously love these animals more than we can possibly understand, you’ve probably already thought of this. I promise I didn't disappear I just had an illness but I have been watching on my firestick and of course you can't leave comments. I just once again want you to know how appreciative I have been to be a part of this Journey I've been thinking a lot I can't get it off my mind about the episode where they all started to display and seems very anxious and they all surrounded her still with their ears out their tails to the side looking pretty Stern and they did it all together so it's like they had some sort of a little backstabbing party or something like that I don't know if that was silly I'm sorry I was just wondering have you ever thought anymore about why it was happening cuz I did notice that they were all having their little difficulties getting mad at each other suddenly and I was wondering did get it boiled down to a new person working with you or was it the season? Its very rough for everybody and these animals know they're just so intuitive . And they're just amazing so I'm sure maybe they're picking up on the general biorhythm on the world. It just feels like there's something sick and devious in the air can't put your finger on it that sort of thing. in the United States are just going through hell I mean we are way over privileged I know I know I know but what is happening right now is so helpless we don't know what to do we thought once Trump left things would be better and they are with our new president but Trump's still trying to run that party and they're following him and doing what he wants them to do so And some of the followers are talking Murder. No not a typo they're actually talking about murdering Democrats But that is besides the point. please let me know about the baby elephant. And I will get back to work on a little replica that we are going to go ahead and auction off for the your herd Colony I haven't forgotten about you love love

I have not seem Timisa's story, but I have raised foster children. Where many from different families we tried to combine in our home. I see so many of these children in Timisa. A younger child made them become playful, protective, and more grown up looking after the new youngster in our home. And like Timisa showing these children how it felt to be part of a family.

Question..... What is the difference in Khanyias and wild baby elephants that don't get a blanket and heat at night ?? I have watched many videos on orphaned baby elephants and wild baby elephants and always wondered why those in sanctuary's must be kept warm and wild baby elephants don't .... This question is just part of my desire to know all I can about these magnificent creatures....
