I mean, it has such "density of content", with the different people introducing their favourite dish, and then Beryl reproducing them to perfection, and they almost all seem to be the best one and superinteresting to try. Great video! ❤ I don't know if someone already pointed this, but los huevos divorciados (from Mexico) are divorced because the refried beans are in the middle, BETWEEN the eggs 😅, meaning: the eggs are separated. It's a cousin of huevos rancheros: place two tortillas side to side, then a fried egg on top of each tortilla, then the refried beans in the middle, then the salsa, one for each. The eggs do not touch eachoter, and, thanks to the beans barrier, either the salsas. Enjoy!🍳

As someone who doesn't really like eggs, finding a low calorie, low carb, low fat, high protein breakfast that I am competent to make before coffee is a challenge that has led me outside the American breakfast box. I have to hide eggs to eat them - like fritatta, French Toast, casseroles, etc. - and tend to use cereal more as a condiment than a meal, just adding a bit to yogurt/cottage cheese/fruit instead of just a bowl with milk. Loved seeing these ideas!

4:36 we also love to soak bread with milk in Indonesia. Usually we use plain white bread and we soak it in mung bean porridge + black rice pudding + coconut milk and condensed milk. But for me I prefer it without the mung bean. The soaked bread is just adding a bit of layers to this dish. Usually they served hot and we like to eat it night time especially if it was raining or cold outside. Now i'm thinking maybe soaked bread in milk is a global thingy. Like everybody had their own creation of soaked bread in milk. We just don't know that everybody do the same thing.

Watching this made me realize how much Filipinos love rice compared to other countries. Most of the dishes presented include some type of bread or pancake. Some are soup or noodles from our Asian neighbors, but no rice. In the Philippines, we eat rice anytime of the day including breakfast! One of the most popular is the "silog" which is a combination of two words: sinangag (fried rice) + itlog (egg). It's eaten with different types of cured and fried meat. Aside from that, we also have breakfast rice porridge: "lugaw" or "arroz caldo" (if you want savory) and "champorado" (if you want sweet). Lastly, we have "kakanin" (rice based sweets) that can also be eaten for breakfast like puto and suman. I hope you can explore Filipino breakfast too, Beryl!

@@nicolle2126 I know she covered champorado, but on the Comfort Food episode not for breakfast. Its odd but my brother doesnt mind, but I hate it, almost like experiencing a war or something. I always smell and taste it, I dont want to throw sometimes out. And also are some food I knew was experied. But dont get sick easily. Right now I usually eat sheep yoghurt with muesli and cruesli and some type of fruit. Because my Bf and his kids eat something similar in the morning. And usually cinnamon (banana or Apple). Otherwise I love to eat something tosti with tomato and ham and mayonaise and herbs. High protein breakfasts that have 20-35 grams of protein are the most filling and keep you fuller longer.
