Hi Jenni! Firstly, I would like to say that it is AMAZING to finally find a female host for a watch/horology enthusiast channel. I am a female watch enthusiast and have loved watches since I was young. To put it into perspectice, I am totally fine to not have any piece of jewellery on me but I wouldn't ever be able to leave the house without a watch(yes, I don't personally consider watches 'just' a piece of jewellry because to me it's a lot more). To reiterate this even more, I would not even glance at a 24K diamond but I would definitely spend hours admiring watches-any kind and any brand that I find interesting(and of course buy them when I get impulsive!) Secondly, having said that, it has been a struggle for me to be into this world of loving watches because I feel that this love is so gender segregated. For instance, I would come to a store and they would immediately direct me to ladies watches but I honestly find the mens watches more appealing because I feel that watch makers put a lot of effort and thought to mens watches and then eventually loosely produce feminine looking ones for the "ladies". (Honestly they should just make unisex ones! Enough of the "for mens, for womens" BS. It's 2020!) And as I slowly grow my knowledge for horology, I feel more and more out of place because everything seems to be almost solely for "The Gentlemen". You can imagine how I feel being a woman and is actually really interested and genuinely enjoys looking at, wearing and even deciphering watches(like what is a better callibre movement, what complications does it have, what is the movement, case size, what does it contain in its dial, is it sapphire cyrstal or hardlex, how many jewels does it have, etc... I could go on!) but seem to only be catered, accepted and normalise to men. Arrggg.. Sorry to blabber. Thirdly, I just really want to express how happy I am to find a female host sharing love for watches! That is my main point! Lastly, I noticed that you have been mostly featuring the high end luxury watches. Do you consider featuring mid to low budget watches but are really valuable and have been able to prove valuable too like Seiko, Citizen, Longines, Tissot, Hamilton, Rado... (there's a lot of them)... It's just because I can only be able to dream about these Omegas and Rolexes but might never be able to afford them. So it would be nice to see watches that I know are within the reach of a person such as myself who always have to consider a budget but would like to have great value and craftmanship as well. Anyhow. Thank you for starting this channel! I hope to see it grow! And I have definitely subscribed!

Great reviews, Ms. Elle, on a subject (watches for small wrists) about which discussion is much needed. I wish the itty bitty wrist committee would meet and petition the watch manufacturers to provide a small strap option at the time of purchase. Some do, but a lot of them do not. A greater variety of smaller straps from the strap companies would be nice also. Thank you for these reviews.

Marco Antonio It’s way too expensive for what you get, I agree. And the lug to lug is baffling as well. And that date window really looks off and ruins the flow of the dial. If they did a no-date version at around 3 grand, then we’d be talking. But as it stands, it feels like a terrible value.

First of all, compliments for segmenting the video! You're the first watch channel to do so and it's a very welcome choice. I'm a male but I have a small (165mm) wrist; for my taste, 34 to 36mm cases look best for wrists under 170mm. I like a lot the Oyster Perpetual 34mm in green: no date (i hate the cyclops lens), same caliber as the bigger cases, uncommon color, discreet watch.

Great video. Worth saying you don't have to have very small wrists to appreciate smaller watches. My wrist is 7ins, which is about average for a man, and I can wear up to about 43mm no problem. But smaller, sub-40mm watches are just so much more elegant and refined. It's the differences between a watch being a statement piece or an accessory, something bold and defining or something subtle and understated. I know which I prefer.

Well presented video, with a selection of interesting watches, Jenni! I totally agree with your last two points! Lugs, does makes a massive difference in overall size of the watch, on how it will look on your wrist, and that if possible - try the watch on your wrist before you buy it. At times you'll be surprised on how a fairly large watch (40mm, for the itty bitty wrist committee members ) would sit well on the wrist without looking out of place.

smaller wrist here, circa 175mm. I have however, found that it's surprising what you can get away with. I've had good success with larger watches up as high as 42mm depending on the type of strap. Bracelets look better on smaller wrists, because of the way they are forced to curve around the wrist. Leather (because it tends to go vertical if the watch is too large) looks worse. That said, on my 175mm wrists, i found that Longines Hydroconquest Dive (41mm on steel bracelet) Looks excellent. Doesnt overhang, sits nicely and hugs the wrist more than you'd think. Longines Master Moonphase (god bless Longines for offering this in both 40mm and 42mm) I bought the 40mm and it looks fantastic on its alligator strap. JLC reverso classic medium duoface. A great small wrist watch.

Nice video but actually the iwc spitfire does have an in house movement: it's the new IWC cal. 32110.
@daveb46794 жыл бұрын
Point of information - the 32110 is built by ValFleurier not IWC and it’s architecture is based upon the ETA 2892. I suppose IWC can claim “in-house” as they’re both Richemont group but still it’s mainly marketing. Same trick as the IWC cal.30110 (ETA 2892 and later Sellita SW300). As to how much involvement IWC has in assembly is up for debate. Most information is that, pre-2011, IWC did some their own assembling / decoration / modification of purchased ETA stock. Since 2011 they’re largely purchased complete movements. But overall cal.30110 a downgrade of involvement compared to cal.37524 found in the Mark XV (in itself was still a 2892). Nothing wrong with a 2892. I own a few IWCs with such movements. But I can’t stand their marketing ploys.
