I never thought I'd have a one watch collection until I met the Aqua Terra. I've since sold all my other watches and the Aqua Terra Golf (black dial, green seconds hand) on black rubber has graced my wrist every day since. Classy enough for work, sporty enough for the beach, the perfect "go anywhere, do anything" watch. I definitely prefer the symmetry of the date at 6, and the quick hour setting is so convenient for travel. And may I just say the way the light twinkles off the dagger indices is just magical..

In my opinion that 38mm Aqua Terra with a white dial and black polish hands is the most beautiful Aqua Terra variant. Hands and indices make perfect contrast combination against the white dial, and depending on the light angle, they change shading from deep gray to black. No colors are spoiling this dial, it is a perfect monochrome, but still with shades of deep gray with mirror reflection and not a simple black and white combination against the dial. This works much better than any colored dial combination and better than a combination with the white dial. Regarding the 41mm model version, the white dial variant is only available with orange seconds hand and with a rubber strap. Too bad the 41mm version fits better on my wrist, and also I am opting for the jumping hour feature and 60h power reserve on 41 mm version against 55h which is available on 38mm version. Only with 60h of power reserve it is theoretically possible that watch may run unworn over the weekend until Monday morning.

I have a 38mm black dial AT on rubber strip from an AD for over two years. It’s a versatile watch as you said. I have encountered two problems , (1) a piece of white stitch on the rubber strip closest to the bezel broke off. As a result of that, I took the AT to an Omega boutique for a repair. They said they never saw this defeat before. They couldn’t fix it but they discovered a mechanical problem that I didn’t notice, both before and after their warranty repair (I couldn’t understand their explanation too). I ended up putting superglue to stick the broken stitch on the strip myself. One wouldn’t notice the repair from normal distance. I don’t baby my AT, but I do take reasonable care of the watch. I’m in the fifties, and wear the AT in occasional swimming.

@@JenniElle I’m the same, I always prefer to size my bracelet myself, mostly because I am very particular about how the clasp gets centred on the underside of my wrist, but I had the exact same problem with my Moonwatch. The extreme amount of thread locker meant that I damaged a few screws as well and this was AFTER trying things like a hair dryer and immersing the links in just-boiled water for a period. I saw someone on KZbin take a blow torch to their links (which worked) but I was too concerned that this could discolour the steel. @@Fb1907kysf I guess the problem here is terminology : what I called micro-adjusment is in reality called "on the fly adjust" or the possibility to adjust your bracelet at any time without tools by micro increments. Once you tried it, you cannot live without anymore in my experience.

I have this exact same omega and it really is a gem. It really goes with anything from shorts to a business shirt. Really love how the horizontal lines play in the light, sometimes the small less deeper lines disappear in certain angles and light, love how the silver on he hour markers and hands also change colours, you'd swear they are back then then they turn silver and then they get absorbed in the same colour as the watch all dependent on the light you are in. It just a great watch and my most worn.

I own a 36mm Silver dial AT and I love it! Cracking little watch that wears so comfortably on the bracelet and goes with a host of great leather strap combinations (19mm lugs are a bit annoying). it's been a great one watch, do it all kind of timepiece while I look to add around it some more items. The use of a low powered soldering iron tip will effectively loosen the loctite. I think they use 242 blue, but the light duty purple is actually more appropriate for small fasteners. Better that than links falling out unintentionally.

I have an 8500 38mm on a blue dial master co-axial and it is really a beauty. It's been in my watch box for a couple of years now and I never wore it because I couldn't lose those screws and was too lazy to go to a watchmaker. However, I've just bought a blue rubber band and it looks gorgeous on it. The level of finishing and quality of this watch is impressive. The best piece for the buck.

Ahhh the joys of the resizing a modern omega bracelet . Absolute nightmare with my 300 I could get some screws out but in the end had to give up and took it to the omega boutique. Assistant laughed and said it’s a common problem , they have a machine for resizing . It’s still a great watch I think it gives much more than the OP and with great deals to be had a lot less expensive..

I have a Longines Flagship 35.6mm black diamond dial in steel (L.888) with a black ostrich skin deployant strap and I love it as an occasional on my 8” wrist! It has a discrete luxurious presence. Without the diamonds it wouldn’t work for me. The much smaller size than my nine other watches ranging up to 43 mm without lugs helps to play down the diamonds. There’s times I just don’t want too much of a watch on my wrist and this baby does it for me. So yeah, size doesn’t always matter. Like ladies, i’ll take anything from 5’ to 6‘5“ tall. As long as she is stacked in all the departments from head to toe!

@@TheSpritz0 thank you! Every time I see videos on watches the presenter is always like “36mm is the perfect size you don’t need anything more”. The whole time I’m standing here 6ft4 with 7 3/4 inch wrist like yes I do. 36mm looks ridiculous on me. My dress watches need to be at least 39mm.

If you want a watch to wear, then buy Omega...or Grand Seiko. If you want to invest then... invest in stockmarket or housing.
