I watched so much Jenni Elle before my last watch purchase, but it was this video that put me at ease with buying what I wanted vs buying the internet's wants. Watches are a personal reflection of each individual. Your collection is amazing and I hope to be on my way to building mine.

That’s a substantial collection. One of the approaches I use to avoid going broke is to only “award” myself when I’ve achieved a major accomplishment (eg a professional certification, promotion) or life’s milestone (eg get married, last parent passes). This approach will naturally limit my outlay, allow me to save for my next purchase and have lots of time to really appreciate a watch’s significance/beauty ‘til the end of my journey.

I love the nostalgia surrounding your collection. I have Rolexes, Omegas, Tudors and Grand Seiko, but the one watch I take out, wind and admire is my father’s automatic1955 Bulova. I used to pick it up when I was young and listen to it wind when I moved it. When my father passed, my mother asked what I wanted and I asked for that watch which I promptly had serviced by Bulova to make it just as it was. It still makes my cry to hold it and remember him.

I absolutely love GO. To me they are the best value watches in the world. The design and finishing are amazing for the price, even if it's increased in the last few years. Even better, they're only worn by people who deeply care about watches. My own connection started with a friend of my parents who managed to escape to West Berlin before the wall was built. Her family had a home near Glashutte. She travelled to my country years later for work and subsequently set up a luxury goods shop where she sold stuff like Junghans clocks and Braun goods that she imported from Germany, back when that was unheard of in my country. She knew I was watch mad (my grandfather used to make clocks and I started collecting in the early 80s as a kid) and so when I met her years later back in Germany she took me to Glashutte. This was around the time GO was purchased by Swatch, it wasn't that far from its GUB origins and they made movements for Tutima. They had a flyback chronograph with countdown alarm that I remember being the most stunning watch I had ever seen. I was hooked. People talk about Lange but GO was competing with the big 3 Swiss on quality and innovation about 2 decades ago.

Was waiting for this video! As a woman, I am always interested in the watch collections of other female watch enthusiasts. I've always played it quite safe myself and don't tend to go over 36mm (the biggest watch I own is a 37mm JLC Master calendar 140.8.87) and am seriously considering the BB 58. The vintage look and dial look insane and I believe it to be great a value for the price. Guess it's time to go to a nearby AD and see if it suits my somewhat thin wrist.

That Yachtmaster looks really good on you, and a sure sign that it's a watch to buy is if it just FEELS right. :)......2 years after I first posted this comment, re-watching the vid...Nice to see that you've got a Seagull 1963! I am SO impressed with mine, it's my most accurate mechanical watch, I'm getting accuracy of +1 sec every 4 days, which is crazy good for such an inexpensive watch! It's actually more accurate than some of my quartz watches! It's also probably the watch I wear the most out of 31 watch collection! Really nice to see that you have a F91W too. I bought my first one on Ebay, and having done a bit of research I was amazed to discover that it was actually a fake!! Amazed that someone considers it worthwhite to fake a F91W but they do! I've now invested in a real one too! Love the Seiko Presage range, however I'd go for the dark blue or green (Just my personal choice), the dials are outstanding! For a red dial I'd go for the Orient Kamasu.

Jenni, just watched this for the third time. I love your collection, it's clear you have good taste in watches and it seems like your picks are thought through. That Russian one from your grandfather is really cool and I liked the color match to the claret band. If I ever get me a wife I can see a future with, I'd definitely buy her a Cartier Santos, one of the few watch models that's always good taste and classy. I even want one for myself, but the bigger ones for my 7,5 inch wrists are a bit out of my comfort zone right now. I'm a year older than you, but I've clearly chosen freedom, experiences and partying more than nesting up a nice watch budget. But, I dare say I've experienced quite a bit, and got some true stories to tell that most people in their early 30s doesn't... I'm a bit of a writer so maybe someday I make some kind of memoire, for now I stick to my short stories, articles and fishing tales. Also, that Undone, I had to pause the video again to behold it. That's an absolute bomb of a watch!

For the 1963, just blow it out so dust leaves then press the crystal back in. The cases are sized for a sapphire crystal and not for the flexing that acrylic crystals do, so the acrylic in the same size tends to fall out. If it won’t snap back in securely but the gasket is fine, get one .01 bigger and it should fit perfectly.
