That Kia Borrego actually looks pretty nice. Like, it would probably sell well today, especially seeing as how Kia has really gotten MUCH better over the years. Plus, the recession didn’t help much at all. But even so, selling 23,000 vehicles in that category for Kia and for a brand new model that not many people know about during a recession is not that bad at all to be honest. Now that they have the Telluride and it’s doing well, they should definitely try coming back with the Borrego

I currently own a Borrego Limited with the V8 and will not part with it until it dies. It has 340hp and is a body on frame, 3 row, 7 passenger tank. We were told by the dealer at the time that they pulled it from the market in the U.S. because the new plant in Alabama that produces the Sorento had been completed and Kia wanted to focus on selling the new Sorento at the same price as the Borrego. I can believe that because the Borrego was sold in Canada until 2011 and is still sold in many countries as the Mojave. If Kia started to import the Borrego again it would sell because people are still buying body on frame SUV's as fast as automakers can build them.

The original B9 Tribeca, despite its controversial nose, was actually a very capable crossover. It had a LOVELY interior for its day and with an available third row seating (albeit kind of tight back there), it was a competent all-around SUV. For a short time, I was considering buying one. Most couldn't get past the looks but I actually didn't mind it too much. I think it looked better in person than in photos, unlike the Aztec which was ugly from every angle all the time. Subaru did a hasty update on the styling but, in my opinion, it also made the vehicle much more of a wallflower and it lacked any standout styling features, blending in too well. I bet the Tribeca's sales post-refresh weren't significantly better than they were with the original B9...

Here is another rare "normal" car: the Mercedes R class AMG. The r class itself is rare for itself in Europe (in china more common) but the AMG version is even rarer which makes it one of the rarest AMGs ever.

I think that I might have seen that in the United States. Who would get an AMG minivan?

For years I thought the AMG R class was relatively common because I often would see one around town where I lived. Looking back I realize I just saw the same one over and over again. I had no idea how rare they were lol.

Doug reviewed one years ago. It hauls ass. He mentions how incredibly rare they are.

@@MrManBuzz Where I live, I actually see a lot of Porsches every day. Macans, Panameras, Cayennes. It’s slightly rarer to see 911s and the rest, but still something I see once a day. Though, I know the majority of the world isn’t like this.
