Good stuff! I'm still very on the fence as to whether I'll end up getting a moto.
@DaveDoesCambodia8 ай бұрын
They do have their advantages but I prefer walking because you see so much more of the local vibe. But having one means you don't have to rely on tuk tuks or busses for longer distances.

Thanks for the info Dave. I'm still looking forward to getting in contact with you. Could you tell me about how much a moto driver makes a day? And how many hours a day do they work? I know it is probably a weird question, but I have my reasons for wanting to know. I will tell you more in a private email when I find your email address. Thanks in advance. Jim Hynes

@DaveDoesCambodia I wanted to know how much a month does a motodup driver makes? And what exactly is a motodup, if that's what it's called? Thanks

pouring water exposing rhe wrist is taboo. (its reserved for rhe dead by monks). Calling babies ugly is ok. wasting rice is not a good look, ie dont take more rice than your going to eat.

There's also a US $20 they won't take, but they'll bung one in your change to get rid of it.

I'm from the UK, is Cambodia safe? Could I be kidnapped?
@KhmerMinnesnowta8 ай бұрын
Cambodia is much safer than Europe and America unless you are looking for trouble. I'm retired here for over ten years now and I've never had any issues. Be mindful and be kind whenever possible as life is short to do the things we don't love doing. No matter where you live, there are always pros and cons. Peace out from a genocide survivor there!

@@KhmerMinnesnowtaThank you for the information. Most of my Khmer friends said I would be kidnapped by local police and demanded ransom if I go to live in Srok Khmer. What kind of budget would you recommend for couples?
@KhmerMinnesnowta8 ай бұрын
@@svaytong219 You should take a trip first and check around to see how you like it. Both of us spend about $1,000 to $1,500 a month the most as we are a budget retirement. Medical is very affordable here and you can go to Thailand for better care. It depends on your life style and what you want to live. We feel very safe here unless you get involved in politics. Again ,, life here is very affordable and much safer as you don't have to worry about mass shooting and gun death violence!

@@KhmerMinnesnowta Thank you very much for your prompt reply. Yes, we were there last year at my brother’s place at Chbar Ampou for one month. We will live off my state pension until SSA kicks in 10 years

I wouldn’t like it if she touches my children head. The girl friend doesn’t respect people by touching their heads.

So you project the behavior of 1 person to represent the cultural values of over 17 million people in Cambodia. Wow.

Love Siem reap went twice last year and making plans now for another trip this year!! Do you go to the countryside much??? I love the countryside of siem reap!! In australia we call it the bush but I thought saying "I love cambodian bush" might have a few different connatations🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣 And do you plan on making the books audible?

Great stuff! Would be very useful to invest in a camera stabilizer/gimbal and a a bit of post-processing to remove the excess movement when you're wandering around. Without it, it really creates a feeling of motion sickness for viewers.

Stay sober, wear shoes, watch your step, use a safe bag, trust no one, check locks, no moto, enjoy daylight
@DaveDoesCambodia8 ай бұрын
Stay sober: too late for that! Wear shoes: I prefer flip flops but definitely wear something on your feet! Watch your step: 100% correct. There's a lot of ways to trip you up. Use a safe bag: I don't know what that is, unless you mean a condom lol! Trust no one: There are a few people I trust implicitly, no questions asked. I would say trust very few people.
