I have a Japan built 2.5 NA 6 speed Mazda Cx-5 since 2017. The reliability has been bullet proof and just regular maintenance. Only put top-tier gasoline due to the GDI engine. It’s just that the amazing soul red color chips way too easily, and the ride is firmer than I’d like due to the sporty suspension. Otherwise it’s a worry-free car.

In my opinion, Mercedes and BMW with a 3.0L Turbocharged inline 6 totally amazing engine, handcrafted engine, easy to fix, regular maintenance with these it’s gonna be reliable and don’t waste your money with V8s or PHEVs
@Mikea6972Ай бұрын
You're correct. And I agree with you. But I love v8's and from my experience, owning and still own a couple of Mercedes, CL550, S550, ML63. They have been bulletproof. Normal maintenance and life is good. I have 135k on the CL with the 5.5 NA v8. 85k on the bi-Turbo Sclass and 110k on the ML63 Bi-Turbo. If you take care of these cars, they will take care of you. It's that simple. This goes for BMW, Audi etc...

The "Acura" logo is not a squeeze "Honda" logo. Believe it or not, it is a set of calipers. Coincidentally, it does look they just squeezed together the Honda logo to arrive at the Acura logo but it is actually supposed to be a set of drafting calipers to denote "Accurate" and their company model of "Precision Crafted Performance."

Having an allegiance to Toyota, I hope the Toyota 2.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated, as in our 2023 non-hybrid RAV4 will be available for years to come. The newest addition is, despite my reservations, but pressure by the other half, is a 2024 Crown Platinum with the turbo hybrid 4 cyl and although these are made in Japan, I wonder about longevity. Of course, my getting up in years also worries me about my own longevity!

I agree with everything on here and generally to avoid a turbo if possible. However, I'd put the GM 3.6l V6 on this list. Yeah, I heard about timing chain stretch from 2008 - 2012 but that is well over a decade ago (and in many cases it was too little oil in the engine that caused it). The GM 3.6 is everywhere, in everything and it is cheap to run on regular gas, parts easy to find, and using cheap Wal Mart synthetic oil with a 5K interval you can easily get 200K miles out of it.
