The male cats I have had lived to be between 18 and 22 years old. While the oldest female cat lived to be 17.

The male and female lifespan thing might be more like humans (where women live longer than men) rather than the roaming thing. My female cat who loved to roam lived longer than the male one who didn’t really like it as much.
