Uh oh, Cola's gonna have to do the run of shame to recover his items and even better, since he died near biters he will have to avoid the worm and the biters that will appear there. Better get some omega 3 fatty acids to not die (fish are found in water (duh) as the shallow part of water, each fishing thing will give you 5 fish), just eat fish to never die (note, enough worms will overwhelm you!). To recover items you have to find your corpse and hold right click to deconstruct.

In my defense, I didn't say NOT to use sushi, I just said it was horrible, and hilarious. Sushi designs really need circuits (green tech) to make them work properly. That way, you can limit the quantity of items on a belt loop, and keep it from clogging up. But understanding circuits is definitely too complicated for beginners without a background in electrical engineering and computer science. It's basically just like designing logic in hardware circuits. I'm internally screaming at that power setup, but I have to remind myself that's basically what my first power setup looked like. The power pole spaghetti for the furnaces is the best worst thing I've seen. Good progress though. Quadrupling science and setting up fully automated defenses is a good amount of progress for 40 minutes. I also liked the way you got everything on a belt for green science. I would have done things differently, but I liked your solution. Also, I'm now going to call long inserters "big boys".

6:20 you said it's quicker to automate than do it yourself. Technically it's quicker to hand-craft as the first level of assembly machines only craft at half the speed. But they will carry on crafting in the background while you're away sorting out defences or exploring the map, so by the time you come back to them they've made lots of items in your absence.

One of your ammo furnaces has the red arm in the wrong direction. You also could merge a coal belt to the empty lane of the iron belt at the ammo furnaces from the left coal mines. You need to spread out your copper and steel belts, you will need tons more. The factory is comming along nicely, you know you're doing well if bugs bite your walls and belts
