I hava 4k on 2 agm 100ah batteries group 35's. And a stock 140amp Alt da big 3 0gauge everything on 4 15' my volts dnt drop below 13.6 full tilt. (On a Yukon Alt only charge at 13.8 whn it gets warm)

@@jimjones3287 upgrade the alt. His shit don’t drop that much because his alternator is 140 amp. A car alternator, which I’m assuming you have a car, are only about 80-100amps. big difference. You can have the best battery out there but if your alternator week it’s not gonna be able to support that amp draw and charge your battery at the same time.

Kinda late but you don’t really need another alternator but you will need another battery that’s dedicated for the amps. I’m currently pushing over 2k and my voltages on my main battery are always the same

Just remove 1 of the bad..and move 1 good one to that bank and you have at least 1 good bank I could have fixed that in less than 10 minutes. Run the 8k but gain only half as usual and bingo bango call it good till you get 2 new cells.

@Basshead40 sure wish I had someone like you local to me that could help me. I do best learning firsthand, in hands-on environment. I'll be adding lithium to my system soon & it's my first time having lithium, I can't wait. Having that strong, stable voltage and being able to use my larger amplifiers will be awesome! My biggest stumbling block is there are various types of lithium and so many different companies/brands involved that either make lithium or slap their label over someone else's cells. Ugh it gets real overwhelming & confusing to me! 😔

You can run yins in 5s for stock charging voltages up to 14.3. Pull the 2 bad ones and make a 5s2p bank. Boom problem solved.

I'm planning to install my first lithium setup in my car soon, and can't wait! My question, if you can run the bank with only 5 cells then why do I typically see everyone using 6 cells per bank? (Like I said bear with me and be easy on me, I'm trying to learn all I can) Once I finally decide on what brand, type & ah of lithium I'm going to buy, I need to use 6 cells and not just 5 right?

I had a car like this (Ford Five Hundred) and that alternator and charging system couldn't handle 1200w on a 15in sub... idk how he managed all this without upgrading the amp

mrwashington1986, what are you talking about?? This guy did upgrade his factory alternator; he upgraded to a 300 amp h/o alt!! If you are going to comment, then at least pay attention to the video you are commenting about... BTW if the Ford Five Hundred that you had could not power a little 1200 W amp it was either because you used junk power/ground wires, too small of wiring OR your alternator or battery was worn out and needed replaced. The Ford Five Hundred's electrical system from the factory is plenty sufficient to power a 2kw amp when in proper working order... Of course your car is going to struggle powering a lil 1200 w amp when your battery, alternator or more than likely both are bad. Especially when the Ford Five Hundred's are known for giving electrical problemsand and being notorious for factory alternator failures. I had a Ford Five Hundred and mine had NO problem powering a Trauma Concussion Series 2000.1d Bluetooth amp which is known to be a very under rated amp and puts out well over its rated 2000 rms. (You can check out Trauma amps if you want to verify, Big D has a dyno vid of one) The Trauma 2kw amp in my Ford Five Hundred really made my 18" sub flex hard! All on factory rated 150 amp alternator and a plain Exide lead acid battery, along with the Big 3 kit I added to help the current flow more freely since I was still on stock electrical. Just having properly working parts on your car can make a big difference!
