one of the best explanations of this aircraft. Thanks!!

I did my ppl training on that plane and I must say you hit the point in many regards. One of the most amusing plane reviews I‘ve ever seen! Greetings from Graz (LOWG)

Much appreciated! Glad my review didn't stall.

I never flew one, but as you've mentioned there's quite many of them in Europe. I like the slick design and admire Diamond's safety characteristics in general. What I've seen, however, is that they do well on well kept runways, but don't like soft fields. Laminar airfoli and small engine require to keep the nose gear on the ground for longer, during the run, than you'd expect from old Cessna, so I recall it was much easier to get a prop strike on wet and bumpy surface in DA-20. BTW. Fore challenging conditions yak-12, Wilga or An-2, if you have big familly, are still not matched 😉

An-24 FTW!

Started my training on the DA20 and also did my first solo on that type (but it had 140HP). Later I’ve switched to the Aquila A211, which is by far more up to date and very comfortable. Still I think the Katana is easier to fly and a very calm plane.

I assume the 140hp version was a DA40 probably?
@chrizwob4 ай бұрын
@@hrvatski_pilot no the DA40 is a fourseater
@chrizwob4 ай бұрын
It had 100Hp, not 140. the Aquila has 140. I was wrong.

Thanks! Did you have a chance to fly DA20? What was your experience?

After Cessna-172 DA20 looks very small. But this airplane is very good for beginners pilots 🙂

Small but cute 😅

Why does it say that the range is about 1600 kms on Google ? What do you think if i fly it from Barcelona to Oran (Algeria) ?

Awesome video and beautiful scenary. Is Croatia a good place and affordable to do the PPL (in English)? im newbie, why is the airspeed not zero when you^re on the ground?
@hrvatski_pilot2 ай бұрын
I did my ppl in Croatia and I would do it again. Complex airspace, combination of mountain and flatlands, nice scenery, nice weather. With the right flight school, I had overall a very good and affordable experience.

Airspeed is not zero, because a pitot tube is blocked with cover and outside pressure changed. Since airspeed senses the pressure difference between one in pitot tube and static pressure, hence the reading on the ground is not zero.

If I am 1.94m, have I got the chance to place my body in this plane or an identical one like from the previous review?
@hrvatski_pilot7 ай бұрын
This one is definitely more roomier, should be no problem even for a tall person
@DerGangolf6 ай бұрын
I‘m 1.90m and I was constantly hitting the canopy with my headset, which was really annoying. No problems with my legs though

Would you take this friend for a round- the-world journey?
@hrvatski_pilot7 ай бұрын
Definitely not 😃 That would be quite difficult. Seats are uncomfortable, limited range, never seen long range tanks for DA20.

How big is lift to drag ratio?🧐
@hrvatski_pilot8 ай бұрын
To be honest, I never seen L/D published for DA20. But Flight Manual has an information about Glide Ratio: > Glide Ratio 14, which means at 1000 ft/305m above ground, and with no wind the distance of glide is 2.5 NM (4.3 km) With wing aspect ratio of 10, DA20 definitely has a glider roots.
